Damn, now I feel old. I'm more than a decade older than you.

I wonder what the average age of PAers is. I've always assumed that it was mid-20s to 30s (since little kids shouldn't be reading a webcomic like this :P).

Star Fox loses a lot on the Wii, I think. The mushy L/R buttons just don't work right for barrel rolls. It takes too long to do one.
Suprisingly, the GC controller works great for SF

I'm '87 too, but we didn't have cable. More through choice/budget constraints than cause the technology didn't exist...

Also born in '87 so I had cable while my dad was stationed at Ft. Worth in Michigan but when my dad transferred to the Pentagon in D.C. we went back to broadcasting. So ABC and PBS became my new best friends.

So, Bonk's Revenge (Bonk 2) is coming out this month.

    Anyone here ever play it?

Hell yeah, I got bonk's revenge on the Turbo Duo. It's my favorite in the bonk series.

Bonk 1 was all the same kind of level - prehistoric volcano. Bonk III was too much off the wall levels - a pet shop in the 1990's, or a boat from the 1990's. Bonk II was the perfect blend. You'd have off the wall levels, but they'd look like they were prehistoric.

    Great game.

Use the Z buttons. They are clicky, not mushy.

High-five to all the '87ers out there. 19 fo' life. Or at least for 2 more months.

Anyway, SF64 is still just as deliciously awesome I remember.

Someone should probably start a new thread soon too as this one is getting close to 100.

85 was a great year to be born. You were old enough to appreciate the early 90s and too young to remember the 80s!

I think I'm going to buy Star Fox 64. I played it a little on the N64 but I mostly hung around in training mode and I don't think I've ever finished a run, even doing the easiest stages. I wasn't much of a gamer back then. Watching my brother play it yesterday made me realize that I want to play it as well.

    And sharing is for chumps.

Hey, we've got to do something while we wait for the next VC release (which will be Friday in Australia/Europe). I'm sure the thread will get back on track then.

That's the great thing about this thread. No matter how off-topic it gets, it comes back to the subject of the VC twice a week.

    (1981 here).

Hey, don't knock the 80's. 80's music and movies own you.

And for the new thread: No more [Shmup On]. It's no longer appropriate. May I suggest [Retro On]?

A lot of N64 games have aged really well. And not just in the visuals department. I'm having more fun with Starfox and Mario Kart than I have in ages.

    Thank you Nintendo. Thank you.
