It seems to be associated with lighting, as the helicopter at the start of No Mercy pulls the exact same crap, as does the gas station right before the lift in No Mercy if you blow it up and the crashed helicopter at the beginning of Crash Course.
I'm running a Samsung RF711 Laptop with a Core i5, 4GB ram and a Geforce GT 540M, everything on High or Very High, at 1600x900 res(native), no AA.. I don't think L4D2 has the same problem, and I certainly have never seen any weird lighting issues with TF2 or other source games..
Also, I would definitely like to get in on some games, glitches be damned!

"Do ya think this map needs anything?"
"Nah, just unflag the hordespawn timer and be done with it. I wanna get some coffee."
See, I like the runner events in L4D2 since they're designed around that fact and it shows. Just tacking that element onto maps not designed around the fact... not so much. At least Blood Harvest is still manageable on expert, wich is more than I can say for DT4. Still fun to see the campaign again, was my favourite in L4D1.

Oh, and I haven't played L4D2 in like a year and never played online before that.
Any word on L4D3?
Nope no word at all, doubt they're working on it. Didn't the turtle rock studio get taken over by someone else?
They're probably busy on CS DOTA2 and who knows what else.
They've said that they can't do what they want to do with a hypothetical L4D3 on the Source engine. So, wait for HL3 first.
Yeah. Valve. Turtle Rock didn't make L4D2.
COme to think of it, I like it on the L4D2 maps too, but it seems that since the Cold Creek level, they're idea for endless hordes are constant resspawning hordes with no down time.

Penguin McCool on live so yeah! lets do eeet!
haha, me too
4 maps, the design is definitely among the better of what I've seen from the mapping community; Each level has a shit-ton of explorable nooks and crannies and the design is top-notch for the most part. The finale is kind of a mixed bag between running and scavenge event. This might very well be a newcomer into the top 5 homemade L4D campaigns imo. Grab some friends and give it a test!
How it plays in versus? How the hell would I know?

So be it, but I warn you! It is a fools errand!
Came in just to say there was a Cold Stream patch yesterday and lo and behold! It's kinda good now! I know, I can hardly believe it myself...
Most of the quake2-esque areas have been touched up and the gameplay is enjoyable almost from start to finish. That panic finish on the second map is still kinda too much in my opinion though, what with stairs everywhirr fucking up the fov and the never-ending torrent of zombies taking full use of it... Especially the finale is great now, honestly, compared to earlier iterations. Pretty difficult but in a good way, requiring intelligent rationing of throwables and good aim/decision-making to avoid friendly fire. Oh and there's a reason for the panic state now as well, not the old "you opened the saferoom door fuck you". We had the best luck actually bile:ing the midstream tank and just gunning it to the helicopter.
Edit: Oh, there's still a fucking dearth of rescue closets throughout the campaign, which is a shame, but that only came up as an issue once, during our 1-hour playthrough on expert, so while being an annoyance I'd say it's a minor one.
