Happy dance time. So Leigh's mother called me up asking me if I wanted to go out there for Leigh's birthday. Given that I was somewhat sad about not being there for it, I jumped at the chance. But apparently all of this was Leigh's idea. So happy dance because clearly she does want me in her life.

Woo. I have to stay up for the next nine hours to reset my sleep schedule for a meeting. I can already feel that sinking feeling of tiredness. Going to be a fun night.

    watching the real hustle

this is one of the more boring ones

they're just selling the cheapest olive oil and the cheapest pork sausages on the market as 8 and 4 pound high-quality organic food

I don't think I would have given them their money back at all

    fuck organic food

I know. I'm pretty damn excited. Also, I'm attempting to figure out the best way to smuggle a dozen roses in a carry-on bag without them getting crushed.

I've decided to stop responding to people's irrational hatred of WoW

But the way some people go on about it is just beyond silly

On PS2 the main character could use any weapon besides knives and guns. In PSP he can only use swords, and the female main character can only use naginatas (other slashing polearms too maybe I don't know I haven't really been paying attention). As far as actual gameplay impact, it rates at like maybe a 2, since you almost never attack with your regular weapon anyway and it doesn't make all that much difference in any case.

But spears are awesome : (

If the female main character gets a halberd I may be able to forgive them but that is probably being too optimistic.

    no, what's that then?

It's like a very simplified game of Dwarf Fortress, where you play as a single character in this randomly generated, extremely large 3D world that's made out of cubes. You destroy blocks to gather resources so the first thing you'd do is chop down a tree and use the wood to create a workshop that you can use to create a wooden pick-axe and then you can mine out stone which you can use to make a stone pick-axe, etc. There's also a furnace to create things like glass from sand and bars from ore. It's in alpha right now, there's a free version and you can pre-purchase the game to get the latest developer's version and to support development.

Here's something someone in the SE++ thread created:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOeUUgVHckE

And here's a fly-over of one of the worlds that the game created:

Because one-hand swords were the easiest to use to hit dudes in Tartarus.

I used the spear in that one battle because pierce was the only fucking thing he didn't absorb when he inevitably hit you with the rage status.

Did they seriously cut weapon selection without unifying the phys types? That is ludicrous why would they do that

I was digging down into a mountain and found a cavern with a magma river. The cavern continued past the magma so I kept going. It got pitch black dark but luckily I had torches to attach to the walls so I could see. The cavern just kept going and then suddenly out of the darkness a giant fucking spider jumps at me and scares the shit out of me. I ran out of torches so I can't go any further.

Hey [chat] let's have a DIDJA KNOW? Session.

Did you know that famous portrait artist Chuck Close is completely face blind! Face Blind? Yup. For reasons still being studied has brain like that of some others is completely unable to store facial features. If you were to speak to him at length for an hour he would only be able to recognize you by your voice or defining features such as a hat or weird glasses.

However on the other hand his brain is capable of analyzing a face in a photograph and recalling every single detail so well that he can extrapolate that data into the enormous portraits as seen below. Funny thing is. Up close it looks like just a bunch of blobs. . similar to how his recollection of an individuals face would be.
