Zephos, I'm going to give you my recipe for a quality Thursday night. You can do this with friends or solo (if your comfortable drinking by yourself without the self-judgment accompanied). Thursday night has a winning schedule of television.

By your favorite six pack of beer and settle down for:
8 p.m.: WhipOut
9 p.m.: Burn Notice
10 p.m.: Royal Pains
11 p.m.: The Daily Show
11:30 p.m. The Colbert Report
12:00 a.m.: Futurama

That's four hours of quality tv for you to laugh your troubles away while drowning your sorrows away as well.

Goren and Eames are a good duo (haven't watched the new seasons of CI), and tend to be a little more fun/whacky.

The original law & order is sort of like SVU but focuses on homicides and doesn't delve into the personal lives of any the characters. It also has a solid formula of the first thirty minutes being the detectives and the second thirty minutes being the district attorneys.

Also it had the greatest badass on television for around fifteen years.
