A) They were invisible, Bennett and The Hatian had to have Thermal Goggles to see them. I'm not sure, I think he did turn it off when he flew.

One of my friends theorized that perhaps this super bad dude also has the ability to harvest powers from others, and if he was really all that powerful, he probably would have no problem stealing Sylar's body without being noticed. I'm not so sure about that myself, but it would be interesting. I'm hoping to see some uber boss battles next season.

You're right, I wasn't paying attention to the crack.
I am pretty sure it has been said that he can look at stuff and have an intuitive understanding of how it works. Therefore, he can find out how the person's power works when he looks at their brain, and also apparently take the power by eating that component of the brain.
