Street Fighter X Tekken: Game out now. 12 characters DLC incoming. Day 1 patching.

Anyone else try using Jin & have problems cancelling into Special Step? The input seems almost impossible for me to do fast enough to cancel. Either that, or it registers as a fireball. This is so frustrating, but I refuse to give up using him!

you can do 6 + 41236 motion ( f + hcf) as a long cut for special step, if you are having trouble getting the neutral input to register

not sure if that will help, but I think it'd be easier to do consistently and you could do it fast with practice

If you can cut it at 3(df) it comes out more consistently. Jin seems the most difficult to use of the mishamas in this.

May mess team ninja raven/ibuki this weekend.

the best way to do special step is to do exactly the motion and practice it over and over because its quicker than the cheat method and it makes you strong like haggar mayor of earth

or you can cheat with the whole f hcf forward thing you sissy

Starting to get it a bit - appreciate all the tips. Have to do it way faster than I'm used to... I found tapping 6->3 seems to work at times as well.

So I was looking over the DLC pricing info stuffs over at Capcom-Unity, and I noticed they're calling the alternate costumes "Swap Costumes."

Awwwww, really, Capcom? You're going to throw away a perfectly good opportunity to call it "Cross Dress?"

FREE
Nine new gem packs totaling 60+ new gems
Replay analyzer
Tournament support for gem selection
Three new quick combo pre-sets
Three additional gem loadout slots
Three new color packs with four colors each

PAID
Swap Costumes - $1.00 (80 MSP) each or in two $13.00 (1040 MSP) Street Fighter and/or Tekken packs (April 3rd)
DLC characters - $20.00 (1600 MSP) for all 12 new fighters (after Vita release in Fall)

I like that costumes can be bought individually. I don't know that I'll buy any, but a $1 price tag makes it easier to get behind. $20 for 12 characters? Yeah, I'll probably bite on that. Sucks having to wait until the fall though. The AE upgrade added 4 characters for $15. Capcom's gotta make money....

I'm guessing eliminating Justin at Final Round has something to do with me wanting to play more Marvel, though.

Any Law players about? I need serious help with learning how to get in and actually hit someone with this guy. Overhead is so slow.

I'm actually pretty happy with how Capcom's bringing out the DLC. Kinda blows that we can't get the colors and costumes for two more weeks. Shoulda had colors next week, costumes the week after that.

That's a pretty good idea. Though I'm not having much luck with Tekken characters. They feel decidedly foreign to me.

That's a pretty good idea. Though I'm not having much luck with Tekken characters. They feel decidedly foreign to me.

I started reading the Tekken side of the strategy guide and my eyes just gazed over. So not willing to try and absorb all that to play them.

Wait. Is it possible to play online without the game being glitches and laggy?

I have tried to play a few games so far and it is impossible to play against these tekken jerks when you factor in the lag. I have no idea what they will throw at me and combined with the lag the challenge is insane.

I'm mainly sticking to the SF side, Poison and Ryu feel solid as a team. I'll probably pair Balrog and Dudley once that's a possibility. Tekken characters are just there for me to beat on.

I picked the game up a few days ago and have been trying to get used to it. For now I'm running Rolento pretty hard because he clicks pretty well with me, but am still trying to find a second. I really want to play a Tekken character but my execution and memory capacity for remembering chains is keeping me from even attempting. Poison seems fun so I'm giving her a shot.

I can't stand the sound not working in online games though. Messes my game up pretty bad.

nope that's not how software works!
you own a license to use content on the game, the terms of the license agreement do not allow you to access the paid dlc content until you, well, pay for it.
