Much prefer the RDJ take, where "common" women just bored the poor guy and it took someone who could match wits with him to pique his interest.

I was kind of disappointed at the end of the movie
that Irene Adler didn't get away scot free. I wanted him to look back down to that ledge she was knocked to at the end of the fight and she'd be gone or something, having left him just a note about Moriarty, signed with a kiss.

You did get that he handed her the key to the cuffs, right? I much prefered the little chat they had over something as cliche as "and then she was gone!!!!"

Sure, but without context who can say what a statement like that means??

Anyway I had no idea this was happening in Britland and I don't care if it's poop from a million butts I will watch it so hard, in time-honored Lost Salient tradition of watching anything vaguely related to Sherlock Holmes.

You don't just be emotional and care of others "once in a blue moon". It's more that all that stuff is there, but he's got a host of other hang ups and pride standing in the way, and when that shit hits the fan, the facade drops.

    The Sign of Four

It's been a while since I read the stories, but Wikipedia seems to contradict this.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Watson_(Sherlock_Holmes)
Watson states that "Holmes had while away learned of my own sad bereavement and his sympathy was shown through his manner rather than in his words." This indicates that Watson has lost someone significant to death, almost certainly his wife; that fact is confirmed when he moves back to Baker Street to share lodgings with Holmes, as he had done as a bachelor.

Conan Doyle made mention of a second wife in The Adventure of the Illustrious Client and The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier, but this wife was never named, described, or explained. American author Michael Mallory began a series of stories in the mid-1990s featuring this second wife, whom he called Amelia Watson. In Sherlock Holmes's War of the Worlds, Watson's second wife is Violet Hunter, from The Adventure of the Copper Beeches.

halfway through second season we'll have a 2 part big mystery story line

at the last 15 minutes of episode 1 he's playing his first real big gig and gets stabbed by a man in a suit

he crawls home and she's just found out her mother has died in a car crash where her prius was hit by an H2

they resolve the last season and a half of sexual tension by getting drunk and banging cut to black stay tuned next week for the thrilling resolve

edit: we better actually make that critical condition not death

a couple episodes later we can do the episode where her mother dies but sherlock is off on business and unable to comfort her
