My girlfriend got a speeding ticket in maryland going 59 in a 40. She wants to know if any points will be assessed onto her record for this ticket. My googling has returned inconsistent results.
Unless she fights the ticket (and you may be able to transfer jurisdictions, check your local traffic laws) and wins - yes, she will get points on her license
Generally, no, they don't assess points if you're out of state.
However some states do report to your local DMV for points, so, if you're found guilty then it could be an issue. Your best bet is to call up where the ticket is issued and see what they can do, if appearing in court is impossible.

If she appears in court she should have no trouble having the points removed.
