My girlfriend has an ASUS Eee 900HD with a 40gb internal HDD (not solid state). The other day I got the message on it that it could not boot from the device (I forget the exact wording). After some hunting around I found that the boot sector on the drive was trashed, and I couldn't even get XP to reinstall because the computer didn't even recognize there was a drive in it.
I'm trying to replace it, but all I find are replacements on the SSD.
Is it as easy as getting a 1.8" drive?
