And also, plan to never have money again, just saying.
I had an opportunity tonight to try out a wet palette. It was excellent. Problem is, my wife's hours have been cut back and I don't have $25 to use on something so trivial. I've searched around and have a pretty good idea as to what I need to make my own wet palette, but I figured that I'd come here and ask you lot for recommendations anyway.
Have any of you made a wet palette before? What did you use, and what worked best?

I've had good experiences with a similar set-up, only substituting baking (parchment) paper for the paper towel.
Heh. Of all the money I've spent on this shit I've yet to buy a blister pack.
Anyway, I'll be getting some parchment paper from my mom today, I'll take a look for a sponge at my local grocery, and seek out a suitable container at the same time. I do have a metal Fisherman's Friend box I can use, but I feel it's a bit small, although it would be quite portable.
EDIT: Do any of you guys use distilled or filtered water in your wet palette?

What do you guys think?

First up, the almighty DEATHSKULL.
A little oddity from Dragonforge I picked up at my FLGS. I've been using him as a sinister statue in games of Fantasy where he has been hilariously malevolent. He even scored more VPs than my opponent in one game.
The temple of Skulls! (DOOM)
I grabbed this piece because it's massive, relatively cheap and can be used in both fantasy and 40k. Dead easy to paint with lots of drybrushing. So far no one has been game enough to risk a character by petitioning the Chaos Gods for support. Now champions on the other hand . . .
I've also been working on some stuff for my Club. I've painted up a massive number of fences and walls. (More Drybrushing!)
Now I'm trying to decide what to do with 2 fortified manor's worth of terrain. So far I have an extra tall watch tower and a Chapel which I was intending to bling up further.
However, I am considering sacrificing one Chapel and a level on one watch tower to create a Hedge Wizard's tower, like so.
I have always been secretly envious by how fast you manage to finish all of your projects...
On a different subject, I finally decided to paint one of my AoBR captains(I think I have three, for some damn reason). Still has a lot of work to be done, but I'm super happy with the white this time around, its coming out really great.
Oh you know the rest.
And Crossposting:
Ok so I've been trying to think of what exactly I could put into this thing. It's a hanging lamp which I thought could be turned into a reliquary, it's got that old-timey antiqued look. Problem is I can't decide whether to put some sort of sculpture that's a taxidermied/modelled weird creature thing, or if I should put some sort of 40k themed relic in there - and in which case, what? Relic las/plasma pistol, a marine gauntlet...?
It's 33" tall and about 10" across, with about 19"x8" of room inside the enclosure. I tried putting on twitter and facebook if anyone would throw ideas in and possibly 'win' and I'd send em something, but like one person replied so fffffffff.
I even thought of a steampunk computer case, with all the cables/ports hanging out through the bottom, and the unit itself hanging from the ceiling above the screen, but unless someone gives me an old pc I have no money to put a new system together.
If I were a cosplayer it'd be hilarious to mount it on a pole with an imperial relic inside it, dressing like a 40k preacher/missionary, and spreading word about The God Emperor of Mankind
edit edit edit: If you need some info about it, he bottom place of the enclosure comes off (and is currently held up by the brass tube inside which was meant for the lamp), and the corner filigree crest things on the corners each have that central bulge which is removable (could be used to attach parchment for purity seals?). The top rung is strong enough/meant for the whole thing to hang from.
I'm quite handy and can fashion a hell of a lot out of plastic, foam, sheet metal and paint, plus wiring simple circuits of led's, sewing, caligraphy (for Imperial Gothic script) so say whatever you think is cool.
i lied. i got distracted by alcohol and thinking up a new conversion.
I didn't keep great track, I'd venture around six hours though. A lot longer than I generally spend on my guys, but a lot of time in multiple layers.
Also, thank you, nax and slapnuts.
It turns out including the Ironclad I picked up when it was first released, I have 5 dreads. I realize that I need just _one_ more so that I can field a maxed out Dread-mob. And to make things as swappable as possible, I magnetized EVERY weapon arm they have - I cut off the arm pegs and used magnetic paint to give the magnets something to grab. Between magnets and pinning, every option on the iron clad is swappable and every single arm is interchangeable on every model.
Should I get the venerable dread model, just so that I have _every_ possible option?
Now I just need to make a Master of the Forge with a conversion beamer on a bike to lead them, and I will have one of the most ridiculous 1k point lists ever.

At the end of the day, a car backed into mine in the parking lot. So now I have a big dent in the rear passenger wheel well.
And to top it all off, on the Looted Land Raider I've been painting, I noticed at the bottom the paint was rubbing off. So I decided to spray it with Krylon Matt Finish before going back to do all the detail work and highlighting. And now it has a spider web/cracked look over major parts of the vehicle.
Anyone have a cure for the last item? If nothing other than strip and start over, then screw it, I'm just going to paint them up as cracks or something.
I don't think there is something that will remove the matt finish but will leave the paint untouched.

I think I may need to change the"glow" to a different color but cant for the life of me think of which one would look good. Its kind of subtle the way it is now and I would like it to be something that popped a bit more.
Keep in mind this is a test scheme and I fully plan on simple greening her and doing it over.
All suggestions and C&C welcome!

The thing is, the amount of flock GW sells with the scenery painting pack (https://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1570025&rootCatGameStyle=) is probably not enough to cover an entire 6x4 board.
So I come to you to ask: what is the best way to flock my board? I saw a tutorial on miniwargaming on how to make flock with sawdust, but I don't have access to such large amounts of it...
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!
