I really need to watch this again.

If that woman's cleavedge made one more person pick the game up off the shelf, it was a net positive for microprose. And to be blunt, if taking her top off could have increased sales enough to get a sequel, I'd endorse it 100000% because I like playing great games.

I really need to try and get down to Voltaire and Rousseau when I'm up in Glasgow at the end of the month. Not sure if I'll have time though, given all the wedding-y stuff. Maybe on the Saturday me and Dad can go down and then have a coffee at Biblo.

Ah one of the logbooks of the Commodore Preble. A whaling ship out of Boston. Very dry reading, but many memories with it.

Well, that was a relatively harmless night of work. It helps that I had more than 3 hours of sleep this time.

Slowly moving things around in an attempt to get my office sorted.

I am glad I have volumes 1-3 of Scott Pilgrim in their first editions. I'm not even sure a lot of people realize there are two separate editions of them out there. And the third volume I have is autographed with a drawing of Scott inside the cover. So that's awesome. Also, first edition of vol. 5 has a holographic cover, and I have a copy of the second edition which is plain. My vol. 6 is signed. Signed original artwork of Envy Adams I bought back when no one knew who O'Malley was, a signed post card advertising the release party for vol. 3, with a drawing of Ramona on the back, 2 posters, a shirt, a book containing all the Scott Pilgrim strips as well as the Free Comic Book Day comic, as well as a small stack of aforementioned comics, and a copy of his first graphic novel Lost at Sea.

Basically, for being a fan of something for 6 years, from when nobody knew about it up until everyone did, having met the guy when he was just starting to build up momentum, to seeing him once he'd taken off, and watching a movie adaptation by one of my favourite directors, tonight's a pretty good night.

edit: I forgot to mention pins of tanuki Scott.

So many people love the thing so much I feel like I ought to consider not liking it purely on that basis. Now excuse me while I purchase a fixie.

I'm tempted to make two CDs for the next mix CD event. One would be a good blend of pop and whatnot, the second a Hail Mary mix of rather self-indulgent prog stuff. I probably shouldn't because it's unlikely to succeed, but I do love this nonsense and it would be nice to infect somebody else.

So they're making this new horror movie. Jaws with piranhas.

I didn't catch the name, but I saw part of the trailer, and this dude's sitting in a boat, and suddenly a giant piranha leaps out and grabs him by the neck as it passes by and sends him into the water.

    It's fucking hilarious.

  • KilroyKilroy Seer of Heart Registered User regular
I believe that would be Piranhas 3d.

There's a link to the YouTube page on there. Ignore "episode" 8. I'm going to talk to my partner in crime tomorrow and have him pull that one. It's fairly pointless now.

Those early eps were kinda rough. I directed a couple of them and I wasn't really happy with the results. Well, I kind of liked how ep 2 came out, but most didn't which I can understand. Episode 4 is a bit of an abortion on all levels. The rest are good, though. I'll be doing one in this upcoming batch and I'll prepare a hell of a lot more.

We want to raise funds for lights [STRIKE]and alcohol[/STRIKE] and to pay actors. I'm interested to see if we'll reach it.

He's getting up there in years. One of these days a young man will move around in time but there will be no Jim Ignatowski to witness it, and we will all be sad.
