Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

I dunno, I'd be pretty tempted to like it just to spite all the people in [chat] who hate it.

That is, if I didn't expect to love it already.

I have a rather neutral opinion on Scott Pilgrim.

I read all 6 of the books last week. They seemed pretty good. Some parts were funny. Some of the fights were cool.

I don't understand that huge boner some people have for it, but at the same time I don't understand the intense hatred some people have for it.

knowing not too much about it I'm surprised anyone would waste the energy on hating it. seems harmless and probably a lot of fun.

I feel somewhat bad for the kids I will be teaching during the summer English Camp at my school this week.

They will in no way receive 100% of my possible ability to teach, because I have mentally checked out from my job at this point.

This is a terrible thing, but it is true.

This is my opinion of a lot of the stuff people in [chat] hate.

Particularly when it comes to music, movies, and books.

Scott Pilgrim: The New Lady Gaga?

    Discuss.

Scott is far prettier and much less garish. Dunno about his piano-playing abilities, though.

Cause my last day of work is 25th of this month, followed the next week by me leaving Korea.

My brain is focused on the list of stuff I need to do with moving back to the States, and also PAX.

Are you returning to Hawaii Corbius?

If that woman's cleavedge made one more person pick the game up off the shelf, it was a net positive for microprose. And to be blunt, if taking her top off could have increased sales enough to get a sequel, I'd endorse it 100000% because I like playing great games.

I can't return to Hawaii since I have never been there.

I will be back in the Charlotte NC area. Hopefully after I finally finish my master's degree I will quickly leave the Charlotte NC area.

Just text and the synth sounds.

That's the only one that has anything that unusual. I had fun putting it all together, but it's a bit of a strain for 3 minutes. I see that now.

Man Scott Pilgrim isn't just nerdy though, it's hipster nerdy.

That's a different subset of nerd entirely and not every nerd is gonna like it.

Like, I'm not loving it myself. Too much indie band BS for my gaming geek tastes.

Oddly enough the movie ridicules hipsters a good amount. Though I suppose they just consider that irony.

I am not a massive fan, nor I believe is DUE, Jacob and a couple other people. Still, as you said, it's hardly many compared to the amount of love it gets. They are not quite the persecuted minority.

correct, it intersects with a lot more than just nerdiness.

i'll prolly check it out since i already invested the time and the effort in the comics. i will forgive michael cera for anything because of AD, too. but i certainly don't have high hopes.

I like to think Cera's multiple beatings in the movie are for AD.
