Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
It's my wife's birthday (party) tomorrow, there's a cake in the oven now. A veritable chocolate menagerie, going by what we had in the pantry. Anyways, I was wondering if any of you would-be bakers and chocolatiers have any ideas for a quick 'make-a-mushroom' decoration I could plop all over this cake ... she loves mushrooms.
I'm seeing these meringue mushrooms online, but I have neither (a) the time or (b) a candy thermometer neccessary. So ... other options?
Mini marshmallow with icing piped on top would definitely work!
Or you could head over to your local market/Michaels/bakery supply store and pick up either marzipan or fondant, mix with food coloring and mold into 'shrooms (but it takes a while for those to dry, so maybe the marshmallow idea is the way to go)
Gonna go with the mini marshmellows and piped frosting, but picking up some of those Wonka gummi's as backup. I thought about those too a few minutes ago, but I can't remember what store in town sells them.

If that option is out, just get a pack of puckerooms.
yeah, they make me think of dicks too.

Gumdrops would probably work.
