Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2010: Auburn 22, Oregon 19. Now begins the long, long offseason

Outdated OP:
So we're less than two weeks away from the start of college football season! I couldn't believe we didn't have a thread yet so I decided to make it.
Storylines!
- Will Alabama repeat?
- Which Terrelle Pryor will show up for Ohio State?
- Coaches that still have jobs because their schools can't afford to fire them!
- Conference realignment!
The first games kick off Thursday, September 2nd! Rhode Island @ Buffalo is technically the first one, but Southern Miss @ South Carolina will be television on ESPN. (You can get a full run down of known TV games here - updated constantly throughout the season!)
So in the meantime, let's talk about what we're looking forward to, what teams we cheer for, and why we're getting hated on by the early season media projections. For instance, pre-season polls, pointless except for giving us something to argue about: http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings
so... i'm actually looking at schedules for the first time...
boise state's schedule looks "too easy" again
even if they go undefeated i could see them not getting a championship game, again.
poor boise state.
Boise State has a neutral site game (read: Washington DC, so a home game for VT) against Virginia Tech, which is a Top 10 team. It also has a home game against Oregon State, which is one of the best teams in the Pac 10 this year. If they win both those games and run the table, that should be enough to get them into a title game, provided only 1 other school goes undefeated.
A congressional committee would be nice, but that isn't gonna happen.

The Big Ten will announce its much-anticipated, two six-team divisional setup for the 2011-12 season later Wednesday, with traditional football powers Ohio State and Michigan in opposing divisions and new member Nebraska aligned with the Wolverines.
Multiple sources told ESPN.com that the two divisions in the Big Ten will look like:
• Michigan, Nebraska, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern and Minnesota.
• Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Indiana and Illinois.
[...]
According to multiple sources, the Big Ten wanted to preserve a number of traditional rivalries such as Michigan-Michigan State, Iowa-Minnesota, Purdue-Indiana and Indiana-Illinois.
The Big Ten is also expected to announce a consistent crossover game in football similar to Ohio State-Michigan that will be played each year. Expect to see longtime rivals Wisconsin and Minnesota playing every season.
Commence bitching about the chance of a repeat Michigan-OSU game in upcoming years. (In what world is the Purdue-Indiana game more important the Michigan-OSU?!) Whatever. Looks like the Husker's new rival will probably be Iowa by default, which is a bit sad. I kind of liked the idea of a Wisconsin-Nebraska rivalry, or a even a Penn State-Nebraska one. (We could call it the Frequent Flyer Game or something.)

In West Lafayette, Indiana and Bloomington, Indiana.
Around Columbus there is outrage that the last regular season game might not be Michigan, but I have a hard time believing it will lose any of its significance, no matter what day it is played on.
I hope wisconsin - minnesota still happens each year
no way they break up one of the most played rivalries, regardless of how lopsided it has been lately :<

It isn't and the reason you put them in separate division yet have a traditional annual game between them is so they can have a chance to play each other a second time.
That wont happen for a while though because Michigan sucks balls right now.

Are you a current OSU student?
Are we away at OSU this year?
I might try to go in the event that there could be hangouts.
Thank god we both have defenses, right?
Right?

always like to see the amateurs play before shit gets real in the pros
friendly, meaningless competition is good before the real thing in the nfl
they gotta fix that playoff system though I mean, jeez
