Someone left this on a table at the restaurant I work at. It is entirely possible that this is just some made up alphabet and no one will recognize it but just in case someone can I'm posting it here.

    "Once" is what I'm interpreting, not "only"...

    It looks like either whoever wrote it has a different opinion of phonetics than I do, or the table on that wiki page is inaccurate (probably the former)... but there's one character in the last word on the first line I can't find a translation for.

    I get "J-O-...-R-S"... Yours?

    Edit : Third letter in "yours" is a bit jagged, assuming it is Elder Futhark.

    I dunno, I think it makes more sense with "only" instead of "once", with "I was only yours" meaning "I was your one and only".

    Anyone still got the manual for Ultima 9? I think it had a runic alphabet explanation or something. Not the real alphabet, mind you, but maybe it'll fit?

    Britannian Runes which Ultima used are very similar -

    This is correct. Technically it's "In a reality". This sort of use of the runic alphabet is really popular among high school students just getting into something like Wicca, who like writing things they think only they know how to read. I speak from authority on this because I was once one of them.

    You guys fuckin' rule. I posted this on the off chance someone might be able to recognize it or something - I didn't even expect to get a single reply.

    And yeah the people who left it were young looking, though probably not in highschool, and dressed in pretty stereotypical "goth" fashion.
