Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

This sort of comes off of something I was thinking about a lot yesterday, and fantasy/fictional/RPG worlds in general and what they're "about." Environments which are purely a setup for conflict or which are wholly given over to ridiculous macho pretensions. Like, I'm buying the Space Marine RPG, but I can't really imagine actually running a big serious campaign in the 40k universe. I think at some point my suspension of disbelief runs headlong into my knowledge that I would eventually just kill myself in any environment that drab and pointless.
Like, I don't think any stock milieu in the post-apocalyptic vein does much for me. Lone badass striding across the wasteland of a collapsed civilization blah blah yeah right you'd die of dehydration within a week and be a lunch for scavengers.
A game set up after the collapse of civilization where the PCs come upon a small but well-fortified settlement that just had its second election and they're all weaving cloth and shearing sheep and the plumbing is coming along but oh no evil post-apoc dickwolves are going to attack we need the new strangers from out of town to help us! and so on, that would get me interested.
I'm interested in worlds that seem worth questing in / worth risking dying to kobolds to. I really want to do a dark side Star Wars Saga game which is not involved with petty spats with Jedi and instead entirely involved with finding out how far the PCs will go in the pursuit of luxury.
I think I have Portrait of Ruin, and I seemed to be enjoying it pretty well. It's been a long time since I played it though.

I do half the time, but not too much because I can't take over their catresponsibility.
It likes to play with the carpet at the door and also explore my place. It is cute.
Pokemon, Zelda.

The one with Dracula.

and the dude with a whip
DAMN YOU VH!
I really liked that one.
What bothers me is the forced response from places like Gamestop that tries to sell the "we'll always be here because people like owning discs, it's a collector thing..."
Now that's some bullshit. There's only one thing that I own on physical media that I am proud of, and it's the black label Final Fantasy 7.
I just like having it on the shelf with the rest of my collectibles.

lolbal warming.
the great thing about the modern stock market is that you can bet on it in both directions
basically big market swings can make an individual a shitpile of money
if I hadn't chickened out and pared back my portfolio in 2008 i'd be driving a goddamn lambo
now i have modified my portfolio a bit to be a bit more market neutral and have a fund specifically geared towards getting me a lamborghini
I do that too.
And the crack between the two halves of a consol controller.
But, somehow my room is always a total mess. I guess if I could learn to clean it with my finger nail, I'd do it more often?
I blame OMGWTFCFCs.
My games are just starting to take up too much shelf space. I'd rather use it for movies.
I can't see bluray films being digitally distributed any time soon.
I really liked Kirby 3 for the gameboy I think.

I am a little uncertain though - as one transaction was approved and one was declined. The Fraud Team at my bank said that I would have to call them in a couple of days when the approved fraudulent transaction attempts to be cleared. Does that sound right?
I should stop reading it
3DS: 2852-6809-9411
It's a remake of the best kirby game, Kirby Super Star (which was originally on the SNES), but with better graphics, a few new play modes, and portability.
You can even do local wireless co-op (but I think each player needs a copy for this).
The rainbow drawing one was great.
Dunno what kirby super star ultra is though

I think that one is the Kirby All-Star's SNES remake, which makes it a remake of the best kirby game ever.
Maybe if you spent the next week only playing Pokemon. Maybe next year.
You have wi-fi, right? Let me trade you some of my killers.

You're like a masochist.
Man, Kirby Canvas Curse was the first game worth owning on the DS. Don't hate
Rubber string around your arm. Broken glass from spent reading glasses on the floor. Smoking ashes in a bong, of printed out pages of the thread.
Yet you go straight back.
Awesome, I am going to buy this now.
The demo was why I bought a DS, in fact.
no, but you can give up a power you're using to get a CPU (or player controlled) ally version of the enemy you get that power from.
Sounds like a reasonable relationship.

Fortune Pancakes - My Gag-A-Day Comic
Man, that was an awesome game.
