But for reals, I'm not sure how I feel about this. On one hand, the potential for abuse is staggering, and who knows if it has lasting effects down the road - crazy laser skin cancer or what have you. But, assuming the very best case where it's not abused, and causes no lasting effect once the beam is turned off, I could see it being way more humane than tear gas, rubber bullets, batons, and all the other "semi-lethal" tools CO's employ.
As long as it makes a loud pew pew pew noise when it's engaged, that is.
