A bit forward thinking, what kind of game are you expecting for the ME-verse once Shepard's story is over?

MMO inevitable or do you expect a new set of stories?

I don't know, Bioware is keeping each Dragon Age as a whole new hero, so maybe it will be a different perspective, but same universe.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm not sure I want them to continue making games after ME3. I really love the world of Mass Effect, and the story of Commander Shepard has been something I've really enjoyed, but a big part of why I enjoy it is because I know they've got a story they want to tell -- there's three parts to this game, and I think that's great. After that though? Seems like if they kept making games it would just be to milk the cash cow. Their story is finished, now it's time to rake in the cash with sub-par realization and mass marketing appeal.

I think if they keep going after ME3, it'll cheapen the series.

The best thing would be a Mass Effect game in the Red Faction engine.

I want Civilization set in the Mass Effect universe. I expect a new story with different characters that plays like an evolved Mass Effect.

Actually it would be kind of neat to have a god game from the perspective of the reapers, it would be like Spore where other players generate civilizations, and you set up agents and traps to open the relay then fight against them during extermination.

One of my favourite things about Mass Effect is that Commander Shepard is a completely different person depending on who you ask. To me, Shepard's a woman; a gritty, hard-nosed engineer that does whatever it takes to get the job done. She has a connection with Garrus, because they both believe you have to be able to bend the rules to do what's right sometimes -- but she doesn't go off the beaten path just because she can. She's practical, logical. A technological prodigy. She gets frustrated with Alliance politics and red tape, but she understands how important her role is. She know's she's Humanity's face, and she'll compromise her ideals temporarily if it means upholding Human-Alliance relations.

I really like Commander Shepard, because she's the kind of person I can really respect. But I know my Shepard isn't the same as other peoples'. Hell, most people play Shepard as a dude. So while I'm excited to hear they're looking at making a movie and whatnot, it's also kind of disappointing because I know the Shepard they'll show isn't the one I know. It won't be the person I've come to know and understand.

That said, I'm still really looking forward to seeing what else they put out.

Lots of people love Vanguards. I've never really seen the appeal. I played one on a Hardcore run of Mass Effect 1, and I felt pretty good with it, but the Mass Effect 2 version doesn't do much for me. Sure, Biotic Charge looks awesome, but I've only played ME2 on Insanity, and I can think of a LOT of places I'd rather be than right up in someone's grill. Engineer is more my style, because I like being able to tailor my attacks against enemy defenses, and the Combat Drone really opens up strategic options.

I think Vanguard would be great on lower difficulties, because rushing in and shreeding silly geese with a shotgun is all kinds of awesome, but -- and maybe I just don't know how to play it properly -- I can't see it being super-effective on Insanity.

Charge recharges your shields. Think about that for a moment. Now pop points to lower that Charge cooldown. Thank about it again. CHAIN CHARGE MASSACRE.

Vanguard seems like it sucks ass...until you figure out how to use it and get charge and class skill maxed out. Then it's just ping pong all the way through enemies, greeting them with the mighty left-elbow and a shotgun to the face.

tal excellent job on the OP :^:

i recently splurged on the appearance pack (i figured 2 bucks was worth getting garrus a new combat suit)

now i'm attempting to remove the shades from jack's and thane's outfits

they're especially annoying since those two have some of the most eye-centric expressions

why the hell would bioware cover them up

I would like them to do a game like Dragon Age: Origins where you could pick your race and class at the beginning and experience a slight variation on the main theme.

The Mass Effect universe is so thick with potential and depth, it would be a shame to continue to explore it from a purely human perspective.
