Well, maybe not the cast of the third movie. That one was pretty okay.

    None of these movies have been good beyond the first

    The first is merely ok for an action flick inspired by the game, but then they decided to throw all the characters from the games in with no rhyme or reason and you just get bad movies

    While it had a few neat moments, Extinction is the one I dislike the most. I see it as the point at which the series went from being "Based on the games" to being "Inspired by the games". Liberties aside, the first and second movies were essentially the games in movie form, whereas by the third Alice is expressing psychic powers and there's a clone army of her and the world is completely ravaged by disease, etc, etc.

    Edit; that said I'll probably end up seeing this if my buddy is in town, because we always get together and see this shit in theatres.

    Apocalypse stands out in my mind as the worst.

    The first one wasn't much better, but at least they captured some of the creepiness of the first game.

    Extinction was okay, until they got to the clone army part.

    Also, that butch haircut Alice was sporting for the entire movie.

    Blargh.

    Extinction was really the only movie in the series that began to approach pathos (with Carlos' arc) plus it had the best cinematography, fight choreography and score

    I still like the first one the best though, if only for the DVD cast commentary

    I personally think it looks pretty good. The previous films arent great by any means, but theyre not going for an Oscar. I enjoy them. Oh and...

    I think 5 managed a better evolution of the gameplay, but 4 definitely had the stronger story.

    Co-op in 5 was really sweet, until that fucking last fight. Ugh. Uggggh. I lost my grip and fell off that ledge so many times before we did it right.
