way better than anything else you get for twenty bucks
Even with regulatory compliance it is possible to have a major incident. I'm not excusing it when these happen, especially when the company was blatantly ignoring safety, but no chemical process will ever be 100% safe.
This is also a good reason to not build oil rigs in 5000 feet of water! Or possibly in the ocean at all.
