I have 4, two on both shoulders and arms.
Left arm:
Sun rays and stars from the Philippine Flag (For being half-filipino). In the center of the sun is a triangle for being one of the strongest structures, and at each point are the first initials of my family.
Below that is a tree in the shape of a circle. At the bottom are the first and middle initial of everyone in my family with Louis in their name. So it goes from my Great-great-grandfather all the way down to me. 5 generations.
Right arm:
German Iron Cross (for being 1/4 German) surrounded by 2 leaves, 1 leaf for each deployment overseas. My original design for the tattoo involved an eagle (for the USA), but I decided that was a bit too much. I'm thinking about adding scratch/tear/wear marks to one of the leaves to denote combat and loss.
Below the German Iron Cross is the French Republic National Emblem (for being 1/4 french).

If you want a symbol for America to add, I would avoid using an eagle. Both the eagle and the iron cross are German pride items, but when combined they bear an uncomfortably close resemblance to the eagle above the swastika, and in a tattoo it might be hard to distinguish if it's a bald eagle. You could always do a variation, like just the eagles head, an eagle in flight, or go with one of the many other iconic symbols of the US.

Eagle must be crying with Twin Towers in the background.
How about a clone trooper helmet with the words "Order 66" underneath?

Sadly though, I've yet to muster up the actual courage needed to go through with such a plan.

Right half of my body, wrong end. I got a star on the sole of my left foot, on the arch. Didn't hurt as much as my collarbone or pelvis though, tickled a little. Was purely done to see how much it hurt.

that said, this topic's on my mind because today is my (deceased) mother's birthday. she and my (deceased) father are my inspirations for the tattoos i've considered. both ideas are similar in spirit, and i think i'd be happy with either- i just need to determine which i'd prefer. i've been weighing them for a few years, now.
they're both very similar. either would be text only, in a thick, medieval gothic sort of font. not as elaborate as many of them- for example,
so,
the first idea would be the word "matron" across my shoulder blades, just below the collar line
the second idea would be the word "matron" on one pectoral and the word "patron" on the other
they were biologically my grandparents and they didn't need to take me in (or the other grandchildren that they raised). they could have kicked back and retired. but they saw a child in need and they always felt compelled to help. and that's how i'll always remember them- strong, caring, supportive. like the runner of an orphanage. that's sort of the flavor the words have taken on for me.
anyway
those are my ideas, neither would be implemented for years- but i've strongly considered both
Question is can it be reasonably made to fit on my inner arm.
I have had this exact same idea for about two years.
Great minds!
It's a pretty common tattoo to have triforces in UV for some reason. Did somebody have this in one of the games?
it's a plot thing in some of the later ones
nope, he's 100% correct
a bad tattoo is a bad tattoo is a bad tattoo, regardless of how meaningful it is to you
plus it's just skin, who cares what you put on it as long as you like it

Do tattoos have to mean anything? Do they have to have some deep seeded emotional connection? No. For me, they simply represent a timeline of my life. I know exactly where I got each tattoo and it simply represents me at that point and time. I get lots of dirty looks when I explain what '42' means. I don't care. Am I going to get my wife's name removed if I leave her? Don't think so.
Also, I think for my next tattoo I may get Robin, Superboy, and Wondergirl on my calf... or maybe something in a Green Lantern.
I'll be fine, just give me a minute, a man's got a limit, I can't get a life if my heart's not in it.
My brother is into Vikings and he has a few viking symbol shirts including an upside down Mjolnir. I always feel a little uncomfortable when he wears it outside, in case someone thinks he's a white supremacist.

Then when I hardcore into backpacking I was going to get a tattoo of the "trail head dude" if you hike at all you know who he is. He's the little dude on the small brown roadside signs that let you know you're going the right way to find your trail. But I never did.
Then after I married my wife, we were going to get tattoos together, not our names or initials, just something we'd both get together. But we never did.
I can say now, years later, I probably would be regretting the tetris one, but not the hiker dude one, and def. not the tattoo my wife and I would have gotten together (The main problem there is that we couldn't ever agree on what to get)

Black and white cause it's the only picture I had
I got it on my 21st birthday about 3 years ago and I still love it. It's small both cause I was terrified it was gonna hurt (it wasn't as bad as I had feared) and because it really didn't need to be any bigger. The surface meaning is simple enough - 2 bass clefs to make a heart = I love music. Profound? Not really. There's more beyond that, but that probably matters more to me than it does to anyone else.
I already said I wanted to do this.
My great ideas for tattoos always become super unoriginal cliches before I manage to put them into play.

I'd probably try and find a high res of one of the actual tattoo items, to be a little more obscure but still awesome. A lot of people have already done the Torment tattoo.
also it partially depends on the skill of the artist
if the artist goes too deep they get into a layer of skin that doesn't hold ink well
which results in the fuzzy blowouts
Hell, now I'm kinda thinking about just a
