Ed, if you are looking for a balancing mechanic, try something like a destiny point system.
Example:
Each forumer card is worth a certain number of destiny points.
There is a maximum amount of destiny points allowed on the field.
Thus it is encouraged to balance a deck with both weak cards and strong cards.
i.e. The max is 15 points. Super-Card is worth 10 points, Power Card is worth 8 points, Medium Card is worth 5 points, weak card is worth 2 points. You could have a mix of 1 Super-Card and 1 Medium, Or 1 Power, 1 Weak, and 1 Medium, or 3 Mediums.
I will make that card, and it'll just have your weapon from Disgaea 2.

I started making me one, but inspiration didn't hit. It would ideally strengthen based on the user's forum posts for that particular day, like +10 damage for each post or something equally ridiculous.

The thing I like about the destiny point system is that you can balance out the game to be a little more fun. Some cards are ridiculously good, but you'd only see them once in a deck and they'd be exclusive to others. Meanwhile, a lot of 'weaker' cards end up being the bread and butter of most decks and can work to provide specific synergy to certain strong cards.

It turns out that Big Red Tie is actually a really useful card to have in your hand, at least if you're feeling lucky when you make the roll for his special ability

To be honest that probably wouldn't be all that hard to balance
A Rane could be a mediocre card, except it just packs a specific and awesome ability
Just tweak the wording to be that if Rane is in play and his player's hand is otherwise empty, they win
Although of course the rules for drawing fresh cards and putting new cards into play would have to, you know, actually exist in some shape or form before we start thinking about crazy mechanics like that

Huh, you're right... I've got a flying car of some sort in my WIP folder as your card pic, but did you have any particular powers and abilities in mind
