What's the name of that covenant gun that fires red bolts of kinetic doom? Man, that + jetpack gives me a Tribes vibe I haven't felt in years. Maybe I'm just nostalgic, but the jetpack is like my fav armor ability. Not so much to fly through the open air (kind of gets you killed), but to dodge grenades, use terrain well, and occasionally deal death from above. So fun!

Are you talking about the concussion rifle? It's kinda like a grenade launcher in that the projectiles have a bit of an arc?

edit: and I agree with you that the jetpack is pretty awesome. I think last night I used it and every other armor ability very well, especially hologram and armor lock.

Yes that's it, the concussion rifle. Fun times.

I actually think there...isnt a single weapon in this game that I don't like at least in some way. Even the needler is fun to use in Reach.

What do you mean, the needler has always been awesome. But I almost agree with you, I like every weapon in this game except the sniper rifle (but I've never liked sniping in any game so it's nothing wrong with Halo's sniper rifle).

So anytime a challenge says "firefight matchmaking" I can jump into score attack and it'll count? I didnt know that and that's pretty awesome.

Do you get more CR if you aquire a higher rank title? Like silver or gold? I was kinda thinking of doing campaign on normal and farming out iron commendations for easy CR but not sure if it's worth it, compared to gruntpocalypse.

Yes to both of those. Be aware that there's a credit cap, though, and Bungie have been throwing out credit bans for people who've been exploiting Gruntpocalypse.

Yes, Score Attack counts as FF Matchmaking.

And yes, the higher level of commendations increase the amount of credits you get when you earn it. So in some cases it's better to earn the easier commendations at higher levels than to pump out a bunch of iron ones.

    No.

Exploiting is sitting in gruntpocalypse with your sticks elastic banded so you earn easy credits

playing it over and over again is not a big deal.

Nope. You won’t be banned for legitimately playing Reach. If you find some particularly fast way of earning Credits because you want to be the first person on the planet with thunder and lightning swirling your visage, we won’t ban you for that, either. Assuming you’re actually playing, your efficient means of farming Credits will only expedite your trip to the Daily Cap – it won’t send you to Banadu.

Someone explain to me how crashsite is meant to be easy credits? Because the damn thing starts getting pounded by the DROPSHIP before I even get my hands on a fuel rod cannon. Followed by a thousand sticky grenades before I can get a FRC.

You get the FRC on wave 1. Wait until the generator is in danger and then lock it down right before it starts taking damage (or hell, after the first hit). Remember to use your near invulnerability to your advantage.

I couldn't find a FRC wave one, since sometimes it's only Plasma Launchers. So I grabbed a plasma pistol for the jackal wave and wound up getting a Killionaire. Shit melts through their shields/face with the extra damage you deal.

Yes, farm gruntpocalypse to your hearts content.

They put in the system, and you're actually, honest to goodness, legitimately playing and earning those cP; as boring as it may be.

    It's your time to spend.

You're only going to get banned if you're actually exploiting the system, i.e. literally cheating, botting, or what have you.

I played someone who had the swirling hearts armor effect. I thought it was really lame and GBP is way cooler. When you kill them it basically looks like a bunch of flies appear above the body, and they disappear as quickly as the confetti does in GBP, except there's no YAYYYY!

The original hub-bub about "exploiting Gruntpocalypse gets you banned" was apparently some people found a way to reset the daily challenges and were using G.Poc to complete them over and over then got banned for it and whined.

Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.

Oh no, I was confused about what you were asking it seems.

Your rank in-game (i.e. Warrant Officer, Captain, etc) has no bearing on the amount of credits you earn from completing a commendation. Might as well nail those irons out now.

The hearts have wings and look like little heart flies; I think that's what he was referring to.

Pestilence/lightning are always-on effects; not on death effects like GBP and Hearts. Though I guess with Hearts occasionally you'll let loose a little heart bug.

It seems like active camo is pretty much 50% less useful than its Halo 3 counter part, but that doesn't really stop me from wearing it. I kind of wish that when your crouching the radar jammer would go away, since your already sacrificing mobility, and now people are going to have an easier time finding you.

  • KorKor Known to detonate from time to time Registered User regular
I like to use active camo in team games, as a psychological weapon. As in, I'll get near a flag, or base, and activate it without really moving forward. That way the rest of my team doesn't have to sneak to move around.

Aside from having to move at a crawl to be nearly invisible (I've still assassinated folks who wre pretty invisible because of how active camo works), the radar jammer element is also good for cloaking both the positions and numbers of teammates with you. So run with a group of guys, then activate the camo right before you think you're getting into radar range. Yeah, all the red dots will let people know there's an active camo guy coming, but they won't be able to tell about the other 3-4 guys with you until it's too late.

Obviously not something you'd want to do for defense (you just end up obscuring the enemy positions), but it's a not half-bad bonus for offense when taking active camo. Kind of a low-level cloak for your entire team.
