I read an article about how it was being all bold and clever by not having to pack entire episodes with real content and how they could afford to waste whole minutes on one terrible gag. (The gag being when peter fell down and skinned his knee and cried about it for like 5 solid minutes) which apparently during primetime tv was a big deal

the premise of the first episode this season was that they were doing a live show, a cartoon first. I watched it because I hated american dad season 1 and now it's great. Cleveland has not improved as much but it was actually okay. Julia Roberts died during the last scene and they were like "do we keep acting or do we call an ambulance" and the studio audience wasn't sure if it was part of the show
