Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
This is extremely frustrating. My computer is stuck in and endless loop of trying and failing to update itself.
When I start my computer it tries to install a windows update, not sure which one because it doesn't say. Inevitably it fails, and says "Failure configuring Windows updates, Preparing to retry", which it does and then gets to 30%. At this point the machine reboots (no message, just gets to 30% and reboots).
When the machine starts up again, it carries on from 35%, gets to 67%, and then "Failure configuring windows updates. Reverting changes", at which point it reboots again. Argh.
Upon the third reboot, it says "Failure configuring windows updates. Reverting changes" again, at which point it gives up and lets me log in. Then 15 minutes later it will forcibly restart the machine and begin the horrible cycle all over again.
I have no clue where to start with this one, google directs me to several forum posts from 2006 asking about windows vista, and an issue with card readers on laptops causing something similar. Thing is, my machine isn't a laptop and doesn't have a card reader!
Ok wow, its a lot of updates that are listed as "failed", so it probably wouldn't be helpful to list them all. They're mostly "Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems".
