[Apocalypse World IRC] The fleeing and collapse of Sodom begins
Posts
- Valentine knew he was likely to die today . He saw it when he failed to predict the person he's attempting to kill's death now. He had never failed before, he figures his time has come. Though he did not expect there to be so many men. The relationship with August is hazy and she seems to know these Barker fellow...it's odd. That he would be tied up with a man of Mascara's. It crossed Valentine's mind that this was a trap ,well that was obviously, but that is to say that Fleece was in on it and that the man he supposedly didn't murder was actually murdered and not "baseballed" as people like to say. Valentine's vision failed but he shot him through the heart. He has a few options in front of him
- Run and grab Gustav as he makes his escape. Even though he was seen at the crime leaving evidence behind is a no-no and it's a lucky charm, if he goes down this route he would need to lay down some cover fire likely on the shotgun lady.
- Run and attempt to capture the Shotgun Lady and gather more Intel. Valentine wasn't much of a torturer, but he could kill a person..or perhaps get them to drink putrid water. At best she doesn't know what kind of person he is and he might be able to get more information on the situation. Unfortunately judging by Barker's treatment of his boss's "buddy" August, he suspects the women of Sodom are worst to some very inhumane acts of torture.
- Attempt to finish the Job and Find out the Truth. If Fleece wasn't lying. Valentine will have Gonzo, Mascara and Jezebel or at least Barker after him. He will need to leave town. This way he potentially keeps one ally. Death is highly possible unfortunately. If he had a Molotov cocktail handy he might be able to burn those barricading cowards.
- Project...the project is a scattered settlement contained with a giant stadium/dome. The dome's size is enormous and seems to encapsulate a city or at least as far as Valentine remembers (he may have been drugged or under the influence of a prophet). There is easy access to the central hub along a road with several branching detours ,desecrated buildings surrounding them on each side, which all lead to the same large monolithic building. Some of the population lives on the surface while others live in underground establishments. There Project contains an odd amount of fauna and "natural" streams juxtaposed against town homes tagged with gang symbols ,sewers with odd hatches and run-down research facilities. Barrels brimming with fire and various old tech were placed across the landscape. It was an interesting place to experience.
- He seems to remember conflict between prophets , warlords trying to take advantage of some easily tapped drug source and a sub-culture of brainers. He heard rumors from an Operator friend during his visit there that the place got it's name due to the attempt of a few adventurous Brainers to establish a Paradise in the Great Fungal Forest. If the story is true , it failed. Rumor had it the main building was their experimentation ground.
- He doubts Sodom is interested in any "higher learning" from the Project. If he had to guess he would say the feuding within the city allowed them to make easy raids on the factions not doing so well. Getting them drugs, weapons, and slaves. The city is spread out enough that people probably wouldn't notice or care.
- Gear usually depended on what settlement you came from and usually took to cool colors or occasionally earth tones.
Quick Gear Image Ideasthat's more information than I hoped for
Oh well, it's all good! Don't worry about saying anything more, Valens, you have given me enough information to last me for several years to come.
Would anyone be up for a second session/session 1.5 either this Friday or Saturday, around the same time?
Also I'll write a thing for Jezebel
Jzbl
If not everyone is available at the same time, I'll probably just run a couple of one-on-one/two things to finish off the "first day".
why do you do this
Because you said Thursday , is earlier on Friday doable? Granted earlier stateside
edit: ergh wait you didn't...that is what I get for drinking and reading posts
What times on Saturday and Friday are doable?

So we've got a little somethin'-somethin' planned for me and Jezebel this weekend, how about Morrison? I haven't seen you in the thread lately, so it'd be great if you could let me know if you want to have a small one-on-one thing, or if you just want to wait until the next group session.
Morrison why
why you gotta do this to me
(unless everyone else is cool with a large change in time, in which case: no problem)
Otherwise, um. One week until the next real session, hooray!
everyone hates sodom fyi, it sucks
long story short: Jezebel found a golden idol that stole her secrets, shot a dude, also basically said "fuck you" to the guys who control the water supply
Access to the finest marketplace within' a months' distance and offered to barter with them to cover transportation but fuck it
They wanna be dicks
We'll rally the entire fuckin' area to kill those fuckers
WATER FOR EVERYONE
ALL HAIL CALIGULA
edit: I shot a guy's arm off.
[13:11] <simonwolf> Where are you guys going, anyhow? Raiding Project, investigating the lack of water coming through, or something else?
[13:12] <Jezebel> Check the bullet-holes -- this is our war wagon! We are going to Project. They're not our water supplier, but they might have some -- it'll be a temporary solution to the water problem, but maybe we can pick some of that up while we're raiding the place. Gotta be practical!
[13:14] <simonwolf> Awesome. Rotface is driving, he's looking into the distance, and you can both see it - the "research tower", the central part of Project. The place sprawls for ages, and it looks like you're about to hit the edge of the settled grounds What do you do?
[13:16] <Jezebel> Rotface knows where he's going -- or he'd damn well better, it's his job to know that kind of shit. Jezebel's got her gun ready -- the beefy shotgun she likes -- and her crew is all up in their coats, it's an official function! The thing about raids is, if you want the good stuff, you can't hit the outskirts. Rotface has his orders -- to get in and close to their supplies. Water, this time around, but whatever we can find.
[13:18] <simonwolf> Cool, Rotface drives right through the middle of the settled areas, and you know what the weird thing is? There's no running, so screaming, it's dead quiet out here. Rotface looks at you with a face that's saying, what the fuck? What do you do?
[13:20] <Jezebel> Yeah that's not normal -- dead silent, anyway, though Jez has been on raids that reacted more violently or distantly, there were always people out -somewhere-, with some kind of reaction. So let's look around: are there people and they're just not reacting, or are the streets empty?
[13:23] <simonwolf> There's absolutely nobody around, but it doesn't look like the place is abandoned or anything - there's still shit around, clothes hanging from stripped telephone wire, a stripped carcass drying out in the sun. Putrid calls out, "Boss, where the hell is everyone?" The gang isn't getting scared, just a little freaked out by the nothingness around them. What do you do?
[13:25] <Jezebel> "Don't know," Jezebel says. She's not really comfortable with the situation, either! "Keep us moving. Let's just get this done and get out of here." Do we have gasmasks? We should. Jezebel puts hers on over her face. She doesn't know all the science behind the things, really, but it's kind of a habit -- something seems wrong, bad? Gas mask goes on. Like a luck charm.
[13:26] <simonwolf> Awesome. Rotface keeps driving, you're getting closer to the research tower and the adjacent stadium - it's not a huge thing, just big enough - and Rotface looks up, he's all, "You hear that?" Of course you do, it sounds like chanting, thunder of a crowd, coming from the stadium. What do you do?
[13:29] <Jezebel> Big event, huh? Guess that's where everyone's at. Jezebel's interested in that, though -- it's important to know what's going on in the world around Sodom. "Get me up there," she said. "I'm gonna see what's going on -- the rest of you, finish the job, and then get back here to pick me up. Yeah?" Her voice is muffled by the gasmask, but it shouldn't be too bad -- communicating with people wearing the things was something people learn
[13:29] <Jezebel> ed to do early in life, right?
[13:30] <simonwolf> Rotface is hesitant, he doesn't want to leave you behind, you can tell that much, but he does as ordered - drops you off outside the stadium, and then they're gone, off to find whatever they can.
[13:31] <simonwolf> You're there, and you can just see into the stadium itself, and man, it looks like all of Project came to this party. Must be a couple hundred people in there, and in the centre there's maybe four people, including one who just... doesn't look right, there's something up with his skin. What do you do?
[13:34] <Jezebel> Jezebel wants to hang out further back, out of sight of all those people partying down there. Safer that way, right? But still, what's up with that guy's skin? If she's gotta get closer to see what's up, then that's what she'll do.
[13:35] <simonwolf> You really can't get any closer without someone noticing you, the place is just that packed. I mean, you could try and act under fire to get closer, but that's your call. What do you do?
[13:36] <Jezebel> Well, we can't just let this be -- something's going on here that ain't right. Okay, let's act under fire, try to get close enough to figure out what's going on.
[13:37] <Jezebel> 2d6+1
[13:37] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+1: 8 [2d6=2,5]
[13:40] <simonwolf> You're getting up closer, sticking to the shadows, and you're getting up real close, when this kis turns the corner and comes face to face with you, Jezebel. He's got a few hairs on his upper lip and he's looking at you, wide-eyed. You're not discovered yet, not by everyone, but staying hidden will mean you have to get rid of this kid. What do you do?
[13:42] <Jezebel> Sucks to be that kid. Jezebel goes with the gut-instinct reaction; she wants to smash him in the head with the handle of her shotgun. The goal, naturally, is to lay him out and leave him unconscious without making much noise.
[13:43] <Jezebel> 2d6+2
[13:43] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+2: 12 [2d6=5,5]
[13:45] <simonwolf> Hot. You get him right on the temple, Jezebel, and he's flat on the ground, unconscious and bleeding from the place you smashed him. You're able to see everything going on in this stadium, now, and jeeze, there is a lot happening.
[13:46] <simonwolf> The crowd is chanting someone's name, and you listen and it sounds like "Beta, Beta, Beta". The four people in the middle, three are old-timers, maybe old enough to have seen the apocalypse itself - two men and a woman, gray and wearing these white coats.
[13:47] <simonwolf> The other guy, though, the one with the weird skin? You realise, it's like he's covered with metal or something, because he's shining in the slight, a golden tinge to him. He's not wearing anything beyond a loincloth, and he's got his hands up, acknowledging the crowd.
[13:47] <simonwolf> What do you do?
[13:49] <Jezebel> That's ... weird. Does he look like a normal man besides his skin? Or bulkier? Jezebel wonders if she could burn the stadium down; put an end to whatever's going on. People react to weird shit in weird ways, and the last thing she needs is some freaky cult showing up just past Sodom. But for now, she kind of wants to hang tight -- see if there's gonna be anything said, or if it's just this chanting.
[13:53] <simonwolf> The guy looks like a pretty well-built man, honestly, besides the skin there's nothing that strange. One of the old men, though, motions for the crowd to be silent, and then speak out, "People of the Project! We have made food, water, fuel and plenty for you, and now we have made our god!"
[13:54] <simonwolf> The crowd erupts again, and the golden-skinned man smiles and nods.
[13:54] <simonwolf> He turns his head, Jezebel, and for a second there you think he's staring straight at you. What do you do?
[13:58] <Jezebel> Jezebel is kind of creeped out. She doesn't like this one bit! Dealing with other hardholders is one thing -- putting up with a hocus and their cult? That's awful, that's a whole different kind of thing. People are fucking -crazy- when they're worshiping, and that scares Jez, not for herself, but for the people of Sodom. When she catches the golden man's eyes -- or thinks she does, at least, he's pretty far away -- she lets herself s
[13:58] <Jezebel> lip just a bit, catch a glimpse of that place beyond sight that she's done her best to avoid (that place is terrifying.) It's not intentional on her part, though -- not consciously, anyway!
[13:59] <Jezebel> 2d6-2
[13:59] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6-2: 4 [2d6=3,3]
[14:03] <simonwolf> You enter that terrible place, Jezebel, and it's full of nothing but screaming, flashes of darkness and red and gore and all the other things you've seen before but never so intense, never so on top of itself, over and over again. You see the Golden Man's face in your mind, in your body, as something is scraped from your mind and released unto him.
[14:05] <simonwolf> Jezebel, tell me, what is the weak point of Sodom's defensive line? Is there an unguarded spot, is there an opening in the wall?
[14:05] <simonwolf> Oh hey, while you're at it, what's your greatest fear?
[14:08] <Jezebel> Sodom's -real- single, biggest weakness isn't structural -- it's the fact that her gang is big, and their loyalty ends where Jezebel's ability to provide does. They're jackals, and for most of them, the moment someone offers something better, they'd totally turn traitor. But I mean, beyond that? Sodom's got a big wall, and not enough guards to cover it. It wouldn't be hard to blow open part of the wall with a crashed truck or somethin
[14:08] <Jezebel> g and make it inside the city. Especially during market day. The walls lose guards to cover the market during market days.
[14:09] <Jezebel> And hey, Jezebel's biggest fear? Like, after the natural fear of death? Jez is terrified of being left alone -- she's come to rely on Sodom and the people who answer to her, and I don't think she'd know what to do if she lost that.
[14:10] <simonwolf> Wonderful.
[14:11] <simonwolf> You wake up, Jezebel, open your eyes from the nightmare, and you're flat out on the ground, there's a pool of what looks like vomit and maybe a bit of blood next to your head. What do you do?
[14:11] <Jezebel> Fuuuuuck. Get up, take stock of the situation. Is the party still going on? Am I still in the stadium?
[14:13] <simonwolf> Totally, you get up and you look into the stadium, and it looks like it's wrapping up - the golden man (he's staring over in your general direction, he's got a wicked grin) is tapped on the shoulder by one of the old timers, and they start walking off, away from you, towards the research tower. If they're gone, shit, probably the crowd's going to be leaving soon too. What do you do?
[14:15] <Jezebel> Jez has to get out of there quick. Like, real quick. She wants to take stock of the situation. It's not really the most rational part of her mind speaking here, but she's trying to take inventory of the stadium; she's got ten people, half a tank of gas, and not a lot of time. Would this place burn?
[14:19] <simonwolf> I'm going to be honest with you - with the resources you currently have available, the most you could light is a small fire that'd peter out. The stadium isn't made to burn, you see, and it's relatively open to the air. If you had more men, more time, more gas to throw around, yeah, you could light it up.
[14:19] <simonwolf> But right now, not a chance.
[14:21] <Jezebel> Well that sucks, but it's to be expected. Stadiums are healthy places. Sucks. Should've brought grenades -- Jezebel knows those things pass through the market once in awhile. Might have to confiscate some. Alright -- Jez wants to get out of there, ideally without being spotted by anyone else, maybe by avoiding the crowd when it decides to split.
[14:22] <simonwolf> You could read a charged situation for that kind of thing, plan out your best escape route?
[14:23] <Jezebel> Yeah, that sounds good, let us do that.
[14:23] <Jezebel> roll 2d6+1
[14:24] <Jezebel> 2d6+1
[14:24] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+1: 4 [2d6=1,2]
[14:26] <simonwolf> Maybe the whole brain opening thing is still getting to you, huh, Jezebel? Ask me two questions from the list, but the deal is this - whatever you ask me and act on, you get no bonus, but if any rolls you make that don't act on my advice take a -1.
[14:26] <Jezebel> Where's my best escape route?
[14:27] <Jezebel> If those four guys who are clearly a threat to Sodom's livelihood are my enemies, what's their true position?
[14:27] <simonwolf> Right back the way you came, I'd say - you told Rotface to pick you up from there, right?
[14:28] <simonwolf> Right now, your enemy isn't those four, it's the crowd - and they're pressing down on you as we speak, filing out of the stadium to go back to their homes, their lives.
[14:28] <simonwolf> What do you do?
[14:29] <Jezebel> Goin' back the way I came, then -- catching up with Rotface and getting the fuck out of Project is pretty much front and center on Jez's to-do list. Yeah, let's split.
[14:30] <simonwolf> Hot. Are you trying to beat feet to get out of there quickly, or are you going to take your time and move cautiously out of there?
[14:32] <Jezebel> Her biggest thing is getting out without being spotted by anyone else -- she's pretty certain she blew her cover already, but if she can keep from being caught by any of these people on foot, that'd be good. She's done up as part of the Sodomite gang, after all, and people wouldn't react well to that if they saw the coat, probably.
[14:32] <Jezebel> So: Cautiously, preference for not getting spotted over getting out quick.
[14:37] <simonwolf> Understood. You're moving cautiously back the way you came, but with caution comes the price of being slower than average, and you're out of the stadium entranceway when you hear someone shout, "Shit, what the hell happened here!" Sounds like someone's discovered that kid you laid out, huh. What do you do?
[14:38] <Jezebel> Well, I'm out of the stadium -- any sign of my ride?
[14:40] <simonwolf> None yet, Jezebel, though you think you can hear the sound of the truck getting louder somewhere in the distance. You can also hear footsteps, people gathering in the entrance, and maybe a few people starting to rush out, looking for whoever did this to the kid. What do you do?
[14:41] <Jezebel> Man that fucking kid had it coming. Stand by that! But if she can hear the truck coming and there're people with a bone to pick -- alright, she's done skulking, time to book it. She's running off toward her truck, and they'd've better scored while the entire damn city was empty.
[14:43] <simonwolf> Are you still trying to avoid being seen, or is this just out in the open, thumping running?
[14:43] <Jezebel> Forget trying to stay hidden -- the gig'll be up when they see the truck anyway, and she'd rather get out in one piece than risk getting grabbed up.
[14:45] <simonwolf> Awesome. You start booking it, Jezebel, and even though you can't see them, you hear voices shouting, "Fuck, follow her," and there's the sound of them following you. You can see the truck up ahead, it's parked now, and you're just going to have to push yourself that little bit harder to get there in time.
[14:45] <simonwolf> Roll to act under fire for me, and the fire is, do you make it to the truck before the crowd catches up to you?
[14:45] <Jezebel> Yeah well, pushing just a little bit harder is what Jezebel does.
[14:45] <Jezebel> 2d6+1
[14:45] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+1: 9 [2d6=2,6]
[14:47] <simonwolf> Awesome, you make it to the car in time, the door's open and waiting, but there's two guys who are right up on you, ready to take you down unless something is done, fast. What do you do?
[14:50] <Jezebel> Wonder why the hell my people haven't already shot them, really, but then let's see if we can shotgun some assholes. Apparently my shotgun is Messy and can fuck lots of people up, right.
[14:50] <simonwolf> Did you want to pop them, or did you want to order your gang to pop them?
[14:51] <Jezebel> If I think I can get away with shooting them and getting into the car at the same time, that's what I wanna do. Let those bums keeps their guns holstered until I'm in the car. They might accidentally shoot me or something.
[14:54] <simonwolf> If you try and get in the car before popping them, Jezebel, I guarantee they'll be on you before you can close the door, and then they'll be too close for your gang to take a shot without really risking you. You sure that's what you want to do?
[14:54] <Jezebel> Then I'd rather lay them out now and go for the car when they're not moving anymore, I think.
[14:55] <simonwolf> Awesome. Seize by force for me, if you'd be so kind, and I guess you're seizing their, um, meat?
[14:55] <Jezebel> I... I suppose so!
[14:55] <Jezebel> 2d6+2
[14:55] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+2: 10 [2d6=4,4]
[14:56] <simonwolf> Awesome, choose your three options.
[14:56] <Jezebel> I inflict terrible harm (I am amazing); I frighten my enemy (blood everywhere) aaaand... does 'I take definite hold of it' do anything for me, here?
[14:57] <simonwolf> Not really, no.
[14:57] <Jezebel> Then I guess I suffer little harm!
[14:59] <simonwolf> Awesome. You open fire right as the pair are on you, Jezebel, and one of the guys lose an arm, straight off, he's down on the ground, bleeding out, paralysed from the shock. The other guy, though, he didn't get hit, and he tries to hit you with his crowbar, but it bounces off your coat, he didn't have enough put into it.
[15:00] <simonwolf> He's right up on you, though, completely terrified, too close for you to really bear your shotgun down on him.
[15:01] <Jezebel> That is why Sodom is the finest holding for a hundred million miles: because it has a hardholder that explodes people's limbs and shrugs off crowbar strikes. And really, if he's as terrified of the invincible Caligula as he ought to be right now, she should be able to get into the truck without further accosting, right?
[15:02] <Jezebel> 2d6
[15:02] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6: 11 [2d6=6,5]
[15:04] <simonwolf> Shit, that thing is actually starting to sting a little, maybe you weren't so invincible after all, huh? Mark down 1-harm for me, if you'd be so kind.
[15:04] <Jezebel> You only have to look invincible.
[15:04] <simonwolf> You want to get into the truck? Done, you're in there, and Rotface slams the hammer down and pulls you out of there, the crowd gets there just in time to eat some dust.
[15:05] <simonwolf> "Jesus fuck boss, what the hell happened," he says, trying to keep an eye on the road while glancing over at you
[15:06] <Jezebel> "Fuckin' -- metal dude, and I had to bash a kid's nose in, and they weren't happy, but that's behind us, right? You guys made out back there, right?"
[15:07] <simonwolf> "Fuckin' sucked," Putrid says from the back, she taps the side of barrel with her bat, "Only found three barrels before Rotface made us split."
[15:08] <Jezebel> "Really? The entire fucking place is empty and you pull three barrels?" Jezebel's rubbing at her wound, it's sore, hurts, she's pissed, got brain-fucked, not a good run. "Who fucking planned this raid?"
[15:10] <simonwolf> Rotface coughs, looks out the window, and Gnarly yells from the back, "Hey, you hadn't fuckin' split us up, maybe we could have spent more time raiding and less time figuring out when we needed to come save your ass, boss." The way he says that last word is seething with venom, you know, you can tell he's pissed.
[15:12] <Jezebel> Jez's gang can be a real pain. She holds up a hand, doesn't bother to look back at Gnarly at all. "Watch your tone," she says. "What I got in there is more important than what you got in here -- would've been even if you hadn't fucked it up."
[15:14] <simonwolf> You can hear people muttering in the back, but Putrid's the only one to ask, "What'd you find, boss, anything good?"
[15:16] <Jezebel> "No," she said honestly. "Nothing good." She tapped her foot. "I think we're looking at an out-and-out war with Project. But now we know. That's important." She looked back behind her seat, to the folks in back. "Hear that, peanuts? Knowledge is power." She tapped her temple.
[15:20] <simonwolf> Great. The rest of the drive is spent in silence, more or less, and you're pulling back into Sodom's vicinity when you see these three jeeps, painted blue, sitting there, they've each got men in them, machine guns on the rigging, it's like a fucking raiding party, but they're just sitting there. Someone waves over at you to come over, and Rotface looks at you for guidance. What do you do?
[15:21] <Jezebel> Well that's ... awful. Our trucks don't have machine guns, do they? Jez doesn't run her hardholding from behind though, and she doesn't back down (isn't that why she was at Project and not at home waiting for news?) "Take us over, Rotface," is the command.
[15:22] <simonwolf> Your truck, heck no, nothing mounted on it, most of your gear is in the holding armoury, and even that seems to lose shit on a frequent basis from people hocking gear in the market.
[15:23] <simonwolf> Rotface pulls over, and the guy calls out, "Hey, you're Jezebel, right? We're here to talk about the water."
[15:24] <Jezebel> "Caligula," she corrects absently, and she climbs out of the truck. "The water, great, great. What's up with the water?"
[15:27] <simonwolf> The guy's sitting on the hood of the middle jeep, he's got a submachinegun slung over one shoulder, and he's smiling at you. "Pierre," he says, offering his name, before continuing, "What's up with the water is that it's under new management. My boss Tao says you need to offer some tribute, else it's going to stop coming forever."
[15:29] <Jezebel> Pierre. Funny name. Tao sounds better. Jezebel doesn't like it. But whatever -- the water needs to come, Sodom needs it. "I'm listening."
[15:31] <simonwolf> The gang's getting restless, Jezebel, they're piling off the truck and making to move around you. Pierre shoots you a smile and replies, "What have you got to offer, sweetness? Barter, men, territory, Tao takes many forms of payment."
[15:32] <simonwolf> The guys in the jeeps laugh a bit at that last remark.
[15:34] <Jezebel> "Look, we got the nicest market you're gonna find for weeks -- but our people, our territory, those aren't for sale. We can barter -- bring the water to the market, and you'll find fair trade. We're reasonable people." Her arms are crossed. Water dealing is the worst -- everyone needs it, it's always got the upper hand. From the look of it, these people have what it takes to defend their claim, too.
[15:37] <simonwolf> Pierre laughs at your response, like it's comedy night at Thirty's place and someone just told the one about the cult leader, the whore, and the fungal infection. He licks his lip and says, "Honey, I don't think you get it. You're paying Tao to even get the water here, how much we sell it for in your market is another matter entirely. Now I ask again, what are you offering?"
[15:41] <Jezebel> "And I'm telling you: Access to the best market you're going to find for a month around here, and the goods and services offered there." Man, Sodom didn't really -do- anything but trade. "We can figure out what you think the trip is worth -- and pull that from the market. Trade's what we've got in Sodom."
[15:44] <simonwolf> Pierre shakes his head, and then moves, jumping back into the jeep. "I'll let Tao know about your, uh, 'cooperation'," he says with a laugh, "Be seeing you real soon." They start to pull out, the machine gunners trained on your posse.
[15:48] <Jezebel> Fortunately, as long as the water was getting out into the wastes, it was going to end up in Sodom -- one way or another. And Jez was already thinking about getting those trucks with the mounted guns for herself. She'd take it all for Sodom. Then they'd never have to worry about water traders again.
[15:48] <simonwolf> Awesome. Want to call this the end?
[15:49] <Jezebel> Yeah, I guess that's enough for Jezebel's night.
[15:49] <simonwolf> hooray
[15:49] <Jezebel> Life is going to get bad in Sodom before it gets better, I think!
answer me
Also did you want to have your session 1.5 this weekend, I am hoping yes
Player of Li Mei Feng, Monkey Princess, The Dresden Files Low Profile
GM of Monsterhearts: Blackwood
I guess we'll stick to the regular timing then.
Sorry, Jacques! If only your schedule was less retarded.
Part I
[19:05] <Valentine> I will
[19:05] <@simonwolf> We need to sort of highlights for this session, actually!
[19:05] <@simonwolf> Everyone, look at your current Hx, and ask the person with the highest number what stat you should have highlighted for this session.
[19:15] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, you're already up and checking around, making sure people are in their posts, but you know who isn't around? Sun. He's not at his post, and nobody's saying they've seen him in ages, but you're pretty sure someone has to.
[19:16] <@simonwolf> Valentine, where are you right now? In your house, or wandering around the streets of Sodom?
[19:17] <Valentine> Wandering I want to make sure I've lost their scent or at least have an idea that I'll never lose it
[19:18] <@simonwolf> Have you been wandering around all night, trying to avoid Mascara's family?
[19:19] <Jezebel> 2d6+2
[19:19] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+2: 8 [2d6=5,1]
[19:20] <Jezebel> 1d6
[19:20] <Critical> Jezebel, 1d6: 4 [1d6=4]
[19:20] <Valentine> You betcha
[19:21] <Valentine> Fun times
[19:22] <@simonwolf> Awesome. You walk by your house from a distance, Valentine, and you know who you see right there, leaning on your front door? None other than Arbys, one of Gonzo's associates. He's looking around, keeping it pretty casual. What do you do?
[19:22] <Jezebel> Ages? Wasn't he just at his post the other day? Lame. Jezebel's gonna ask around a bit yet, maybe find one of Sun's buddies and see what's up with that. The gang is awful but they're at least on fairly friend terms with one another, right? It's why things get so bad for everyone -else- when someone in the gang starts acting up.
[19:24] <Valentine> Can I approach him silently from behind if I wanted the converse with him on more equal terms? Meaning with a gun to the back to his head.
[19:25] <@simonwolf> Fancy. Barker comes up to you while you're checking around, Jezebel, he's got half a beard growing and a look of distaste on his face. "Something's fuckin' going rotten," he says, and he spits on the ground, "Got half a dozen people who've got black gums." You know what that means, right, Jezebel? Fungal disease.
[19:26] * Valentine is checking his guns to make sure they are loaded in the meantime in a place he can't be seen to avoid the mess last time
[19:27] <@simonwolf> "We've also got a problem with one resident," he continues, "Valentine, the armoured fucker. Started shooting up the medic's place last night, I tried to stop him and he pulled on me. Eventually ran off once I got some backup, but we gotta do fuckin' something."
[19:27] <@simonwolf> Valentine, he's leaning on your door, so you can't exactly approach from behind - you could try and sneak up on him from the side, but it'll be tough, no doubt about it.
[19:28] <Valentine> Is the building climbable?
[19:28] <@simonwolf> August, hey, you open your door in the morning, and guess who's sprawled out in front of it? None other than your lover-boy, Sun. He's had the shit kicked out of him, one of his eyes won't open, and it sounds like he's trying to say something, maybe "Did it"? What do you do?
[19:28] <Jezebel> Well that's not very good. "Who? Where? Did you segregate them away from everyone else?" Blue fur, Jezebel thought. Broken quarantine. Something had to be done about that. Mimi let something in. Jezebel thought she might have to make an example of him, for better or worse.
[19:30] <august> I drag the poor bastard in and lay him across my pillows. Shit. I grab a rag and wipe away some of the blood. "What?" is all I can really say.
[19:30] <@simonwolf> You could try, Valentine - I figure it's only a single storey kind of place. Is that what you want to do, climb up on the roof and get behind Arbys? Because I mean, you're hardly going to be inconspicuous to all the people milling around on the street who aren't leaning on your door.
[19:31] <Valentine> Hurm I'm gonna avoid the place for now and head somewhere public , where a lot of bodies would get in the way; the market..
[19:32] <@simonwolf> "Some fuckin' Sodomites," Barker says, "Stuck them in a holding cell on the edge of the Salt Flats until we got your orders." He pauses for a second, before saying, "Fuse is one of them." Shit, Fuse, he's a member of your gang, right? That isn't good for business.
[19:33] <@simonwolf> August, he's trying to speak, but let me be perfectly honest when I say that he's had the living shit beaten out of him, he can barely move, let alone talk. He reaches up to try and touch you with one of his hands - the knuckles are scraped and raw, his index finger looks like it's been snapped in two - and he reiterates, "Did it."
[19:34] <Jezebel> No it is not good for business, it just isn't good in general. Do we know if the fungal plague can be treated? In the earlier ages of Sodom, the fungal quarantine hadn't been quite as perfected as it was now, right? Did we have someone who could treat it?
[19:34] <august> "Carnegie? You taught her a lesson baby?"
[19:34] <Valentine> If the market is bristling with people I'll try and open my brain to the maelstrom and discover if I should be actively trying to kill Gonzo and his men
[19:35] <Valentine> *bustling with people
[19:36] <@simonwolf> Earlier eras of Sodom had medics who tried to treat the disease, Jezebel, but now all we've got left in this place is H. At least, she's the only "real" doctor left in this fair city. Even then, it's hit and miss.
[19:36] <@simonwolf> Sun nods at you, August, before he kind of lapses out, his hand goes limp and falls to his side. Jesus, this is a fucking mess, ain't it? What do you do?
[19:37] <@simonwolf> Awesome. Go for it, Valentine - but since this is your first time opening your brain, tell me how you do it, what the maelstrom is like for you!
[19:38] <august> I kiss the poor, stupid, sweet kid on the forehead, sit back, and light up a cigarette before picking up my guitar and plucking a few idle strings. This bears considering, and if Carnegie is really at third base, it's probably a good idea to lay low. And with H being the only medic, and chin deep in the whole Mascara-Valentine business... well, Sun's in my capable hands now.
[19:40] <Jezebel> The plague is a big problem. With only one doctor left in Sodom, Jezebel is really not comfortable with the idea of exposing H to the plague. "Keep them locked away, and no interaction with the rest of the population. Nobody sees them directly -- do you know where Mimi is? I need to talk to him."
[19:40] <Valentine> In the past it has been sort of time standing still. As the process as initiated things around me seem to blur, people and things form white outlines which gradually consume theme, and I close my eyes. All there is that brightness at first, and then parts of it ripple away to reveal a vision or a device or voice appears to say something.
[19:41] <@simonwolf> Sounds good, August. Did you want to do anything while you wait, leave the house and head somewhere in particular? I mean, laying low is all well and good, but you should maybe remember that you're currently sitting with no barter to your name.
[19:41] <Valentine> Sometimes even a person or if its very vivid I appear in a location..
[19:42] <august> Depends - is Sun in any danger of dying? I'm not just going to leave him to die in my house if that's the case.
[19:42] <@simonwolf> "Mimi," Barker says, thinking for a moment, "His day off, isn't it? Might be in the markets, I guess." He spits on the ground, again, scratches the beard he's got growing in.
[19:44] <@simonwolf> Valentine, the markets ripple away, and out of the ether you see someone who looks an awful lot like Gonzo, he's laughing and sitting on some kind of throne, while the huddled masses - nameless, faceless - beg at his feet. Then it's over, you're back in the markets.
[19:44] <Jezebel> "Right," Jez says. "Get to it. Put the order out -- anyone spotted with signs of the plague are to be taken aside to isolation with the others. Everyone puts their gas masks on, right?" Jezebel fitted hers into place for emphasis, and the rest of her words were mumbled. "Don't scare anyone." She'd find Mimi, too -- he broke the quarantine, he would be the liason
[19:44] <Jezebel> between the infected and the healthy.
[19:45] <@simonwolf> Right now, Sun is stable - he's not going to get any better, if you leave him like this, but he's also not going to get any worse quickly. I mean, leave him without any medical attention for a while, you might have some issues, but for now, he's alright. What do you do?
[19:46] <@simonwolf> Barker coughs, nods, and grabs a few people - Newton, Rice, Exit - heading off in their own direction without you. So you're going to try and find Mimi now? Where are you going to look first?
[19:47] <august> Alright, that's good, real good. Until I hear from Valentine, I hope he's okay, I'm content to sit and wait for awhile.
[19:48] <@simonwolf> Cool beans. So you're just sitting around the house, maybe having a drink, practicing a few songs, August?
[19:48] <Jezebel> Let's check out the market, for sure. Mimi's stupid. He gets paid, he's right off to the market, trading down, just like that. Sodom thrives on people who don't understand the value of the stuff they're peddling, right? If he were smart, he'd be hiding in his house, worrying about the fungus he let in.
[19:49] <august> And keeping an eye on Sun, doing what I can to make him comfortable.
[19:49] <Valentine> Do I know anyone who isn't associated with Gonzo or Mascara who might talk to me?
[19:50] <@simonwolf> Valentine, of course you do, and here she comes right now - the one and only Caligula of Sodom, the hardholder Jezebel herself. Wearin' her gasmask and letting the crowd slghtly part as she starts walking through. You spot each other, yeah? What do you guys do?
[19:51] <Valentine> Is Barker with her?
[19:52] <@simonwolf> Sounds good to me, August! But your peace and thinking time is broken when a brick comes flying through your window, smashes the window, the dusty glass scattering across the floor. It lands right on your table, scares the shit out of you. What do you do?
[19:52] <@simonwolf> Barker's nowhere in sight, looks like Jezebel's made this trek alone.
[19:52] <Valentine> Assuming no, I'll smile congenially and bow slightly making sure to stay out of her way. Hoping that Barker hasn't gotten back to her yet.
[19:52] <Valentine> Although odds are he has.
[19:53] <august> Fucking hell. I go from scared to pissed off in a quick minute and pull my new gun from under one of the pillows as well as my knives. I check if the weapon is loaded and peer a little bit around the now-shattered window.
[19:54] <Jezebel> Jez tosses up a wand to wave at Valentine, but doesn't really break her pace. She's on a mission, after all, not looking to be interrupted. If he's got something to say, he can keep pace, right? Better be important, though -- Jez doesn't like people wasting her time!
[19:56] <@simonwolf> Shit, August, it's three of Carnegie's people, including Asbestos - they're starting to walk away, like they fuckin' own the place, and the squat girl, Brain? She calls back, "Next time it'll be a fucking molotov, bitch!" What do you do?
[19:57] <august> I shoot her in the fuckin' head.
[19:57] <august> Seizing her brains by force.
[19:57] <Valentine> Jezebel's wand wave throws Valentine off.. is Jezebel essentially Valentine's only chance?
[19:57] <@simonwolf> That'd be an aggro, actually! Since they're not really disposed to be fighting back right now.
[19:57] <Valentine> He was expecting more immediate "Seize him!"
[19:58] <Valentine> and him commencing with the running
[19:59] <august> 2d6+1
[19:59] <Critical> august, 2d6+1: 8 [2d6=1,6]
[20:01] <@simonwolf> Your shot echoes in the air, August, and the bullet pings off a metal stop sign someone was using to cover up a hole in their wall. The three people dive for cover, behind a car that's on bricks, and you can faintly hear them swearing, a rustle of things being pulled out of their cases. What do you do?
[20:02] <Valentine> after some deliberation and pacing Valentine decides to speed up to Jezebel "Grand Caligula if I may have a word.." there seems to be slight dark humor in Valentine's tone but he doesn't seem to be mocking her position
[20:03] <august> I hunker down for cover. Hopefully someone will get the Caligula involved sooner rather than later.
[20:04] <Jezebel> "What do you want," Jezebel says, not really interested in pleasantries (she skipped most of that fancy shit anyway, she hated those people who got off on being called 'king' or whatever). She was keeping her eyes open for that ugly mope Mimi, and it was holding her attention more than Valentine was.
[20:05] <@simonwolf> August, you just stay low for a while? There's a few beats, and then there's a scuffling of footsteps, getting softer and more distant as they go. Did you want to pop up and take a look?
[20:05] <august> I want to pop up and take a shot if someone's back is exposed.
[20:06] <august> But I'm not dumb. I'm going to look out another one of my windows.
[20:07] <@simonwolf> Alright. You take the time to move over to another window, and you barely see Asbestos's leg - you know it's his, he always wears those fucking fluro yellow pants - moving around a corner, clearly in retreat. What do you do?
[20:07] <Valentine> "Are you aware of one of your gang's involvement with the Mascara family and a potential war brewing between them and Gonzo's factions?"
01[20:07] <august> Can I take another shot at him?
[20:08] <@simonwolf> Nope, he's already gone - if you wanted to take a shot, you'd need to get out of your house and go after them. Is that what you want to do?
[20:08] <Valentine> "I ask because I was hired to kill Mascara's son unknowningly and I suspect take to fall for more nefarious purposes..
[20:08] <Valentine> "
[20:09] <august> Nah, I already sent a clear message. I'll shake my head and put one of my rugs over the now-busted window and sit back down, picking my guitar up. "Shit," I say to no one in particular.
[20:09] <Valentine> "I assume you already know part of this" he forces a smile and continues to walk
[20:12] <Jezebel> "Sodomites are real good at killing each other," Jezebel says. She's a bit distracted, though. "Are you here to turn yourself in? I'm not sure I like the sound of a sell-sword in my hold, and laws about acts of violence aren't exactly secret, right." Jezebel really would prefer if the means of committing violence were entirely held within her gang, but... that wasn't always realistic.
[20:12] <@simonwolf> Fancy. August, Sun starts coughing, he's like, "Doc...", before he collapses again. You know, I think he might be getting a little worse after all. What do you do?
[20:13] <august> Alright, that doesn't sound good. But what do I do? H's place was locked up tight, and they saw me there with Valentine...
[20:14] <Valentine> "Haha you have that rapist coward Barker under your command but you have a thing against mercenaries. Odd."
[20:15] <Jezebel> "I'm busy," Jez said. "If that's all?"
[20:15] <Valentine> 'No it's more both sides are trying to kill me at this point. And your friend might be in trouble if you give any damn about her.."
[20:16] <Valentine> "Plus you may want to watch out for someone trying to steal your throne"
[20:16] <@simonwolf> August, you've got some time on your hands, and I doubt Carnegie's people will be back any time soon. You could go scope out H's place again, maybe, or see if you can get some medical supplies from the market - but keep in mind you've got no barter right now.
[20:18] <august> There's a good idea - the market. I stick the gun into one of the pockets of my coat and lean my guitar against the wall. "Shit," I say again. It's time to set out the proverbial hat and make some coin!
[20:18] <Jezebel> Jezebel comes to a very sudden stop, brings her elbow up and spins sharply on her heel. Her goal here is to take this guy by surprise, put her elbow into his nose, and put him on the ground. She really doesn't like to be threatened!
[20:19] <Jezebel> 2d6+2
[20:19] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+2: 8 [2d6=2,4]
[20:19] <august> I pick up my guitar again and find a crowded corner in the market to jam out on.
[20:19] <Valentine> 2d6 +3
[20:19] <Critical> Valentine, +3: 6 [2d6=4,2]
[20:19] <Valentine> ergh
[20:21] <august> 2d6+3
[20:22] <Critical> august, 2d6+3: 10 [2d6=4,3]
[20:23] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, maybe Valentine's too quick for you, but your move doesn't do anything to him, and worst of all, he's got you in a very advantageous position. Valentine, you could totally aggro her right back on a 10+, no need to roll, but I'm just letting you know, people are looking at what's happening - maybe Gonzo's people, too. What do you do?
[20:25] * Valentine merely holds her wrist in place "You should hold your temper for people who actually mean you harm." He smiles and lets go
[20:26] <Jezebel> "Get out of my market," Jezebel says. "For your own sake."
[20:29] <@simonwolf> Hey, Valentine, you know what I'm seeing? Fleece and a couple of other guys coming from one end of this stretch of the market, and behind you? Wisher and a couple more. They aren't exactly looking too pleased to see you, if you know what I mean. What do you do?
[20:31] <august> As I'm playing, shit, I'm hitting my stride. A tune I picked up during my time wandering in the East, it's called Fucktruck , and it's always a crowd-pleaser. Several folks gather around to appreciate my jam, and a few linger afterwards. I have a big straw hat set in front of me, and pretty soon it's full of assorted odds and ends that will trade well in the market.
[20:34] <Valentine> I'm gonna try maneuvering through the crowds and get out of there . If putting on my gas mask would make me less conspicuous and I have the time I will do that.
[20:34] <@simonwolf> Alright, Valentine, roll+cool if you want to get out of there and lose them. Jezebel, did you want to do anything?
[20:35] <Valentine> roll 2d6+3
[20:35] <Valentine> 2d6+3
[20:35] <Critical> Valentine, 2d6+3: 12 [2d6=6,3]
[20:38] <@simonwolf> August, the crowd peters out, and in the end that little straw hat is filled with some stuff, alright - unfortunately, as you pick through it, it really isn't anything worth that much, maybe a drink of water from Mystery's tanks, maybe a weed-apple from World. But hey, some dudes give you presents! Jericho hands over a necklace, it's made of shiny beads and coins strung together, looks real fancy. Then there's Gettysburg, he comes over wit
[20:38] <@simonwolf> h a cooler full of food - like, canned goods, bottles of water, not too shabby.
[20:39] <august> I give Getty a little peck on the cheek - I can actually use the preserved goods. The necklace is pretty though, and I put it on.
[20:39] <@simonwolf> Wizard's there, now, he's sitting next to you as you count your shit, he's like, "That was beautiful, ma'am," so sweet and polite, "I really liked the way you rhymed fuck and truck, reminds me of my momma's goodnight songs." He's beaming at you, August, what do you do!
[20:40] <@simonwolf> Valentine, you get away clean, through the crowds and out of the markets. You're within sight of the holding walls, now, what do you do?
[20:41] <august> "That's the idea, sweetling. Glad you enjoyed it. Listen, I need to get going, I got a friend who was banged up real good on account of me," I say. Maybe he'll get the subtext and offer some help?
[20:42] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, you watch as Valentine gets away from the two groups who were apparently looking for him. They see you, smile, nod, say, "Welcome to the markets, Caligula," before making their own way off again. What do you do?
[20:43] <@simonwolf> Wizard smiles at you, August, he's like, "Shit, you need a medic? I can totally help with that, yeah, it'll be great!" He's still beaming at you, August. What do you do?
[20:43] <Valentine> Valentine needs to leave..The Project might be a good place to go at least temporarily, but he should check up on August.
[20:44] <august> I look at Wizard, eyeing the guy; he seems decent enough, but you can't be too careful, especially in Sodom. The last few days have been a harsh lesson.
[20:44] <Jezebel> That whole thing isn't really any of Jezebel's concern -- she makes a mental note of the guy's appearance, though. She'll want her gang looking out for him -- that whole thing made her really uncomfortable, and that people feel okay coming up to her in the open and threatening her, well, she doesn't like that. But for now, she has to find Mimi. Keeping her position secure
[20:44] <Jezebel> won't mean anything if the entire holding dies to plague.
[20:47] <august> 2d6+1
[20:47] <Critical> august, 2d6+1: 12 [2d6=6,5]
[20:48] <@simonwolf> Valentine, that's cool. So do you want to head to the Project now, or back to August's place, check it out?
[20:49] <Valentine> How far is August's place?
[20:49] <Valentine> and how fast can I make it there?
[20:49] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, cool beans. You see Mimi, he's looking at some old books a guy is selling - like he knows how to fuckin' read - and talking. He hasn't seen you, yet. What do you do?
[20:50] <Valentine> Also what means of travel would I have to get to the Project?
[20:50] <@simonwolf> August, he's not exactly telling the truth - maybe he knows how to patch someone's arm, maybe he knows how to set a bone, but he isn't a doctor, you can tell that much.
[20:51] <Jezebel> Jez is gonna approach Mimi pretty calm-like. She's not out to splatter him or anything. "Mimi, over here."
[20:51] <@simonwolf> Valentine, hmm. It's on the other side of the markets, and close to them from there - you could get there really quickly by heading through the markets again! But otherwise, there's a longer, "safer" route around the outskirts. It'll maybe take you twenty minutes, less if you run.
[20:52] <@simonwolf> Travelling to Project would be a while on foot, a couple of hours at the very least. You could try and find someone to hire transport from, but they're few and far between. Or you could steal one of the gang's trucks. Up to you.
[20:54] <august> "Oh yeah? My friend got really banged him, he had a run in with some bad people, I mean, if you can help him that's great, but you're not just stringing me along? I'd cry big awful tears honey if that were the case."
[20:55] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, he looks up at you, puts down the book he was flipping through. He's like, "What's up, boss," starts walking over.
[20:55] <august> banged up*
[20:56] <Valentine> Are there enough people with gas masks on that it would be alright for me to put mine on without seeming odd?
[20:56] <@simonwolf> "Man," Wizard says, he's stroking his beard, "I've fixed people up before, sure as shit. Wouldn't be a problem to check out your friend. Where's he at, maybe we should head over now?"
[20:56] <@simonwolf> I'd be less concerned about your gas mask and more about your armour, Valentine - most people don't wear that kind of showy shit, you know.
[20:57] <Valentine> Are there any robes I can steal or some crap?
[20:57] <Valentine> Priests of Apocalypse ..Sodom must have them..
[20:57] <@simonwolf> August, Wizard wants to have sex with you, we all know that. But when I say "have sex", I really do mean that, he doesn't wish you any harm, wouldn't dream of forcing himself on you.
[20:59] <Jezebel> "Hey Mimi," Jez says, a little mumbly through the gasmask. "We need to talk. About that thing we discussed the other day. Put your gas mask on, we're going to the bunker."
[20:59] <@simonwolf> Hey, speaking of preachers, you can hear someone talking, Valentine - he's on a little soapbox, there's a couple of people listening, and he's saying, "Sodom is a dying place, leeching off others! We can grow, we can flourish, if only you saw him!"
[20:59] <august> "Alright, yeah, thanks Wiz. You're a real saint, anybody ever tell you?" I wait for him to stand up and offer a hand to pull me up, and I take it when he does. I'm going to take Mr. Wizard back to my place.
[21:00] <@simonwolf> Mimi looks at you, Jez, he goes pale for a second. "Shit," is about all he can muster, and he grabs the mask off his belt, looks at it real careful. "Give it to me straight, boss, how bad did I fuck up?"
[21:00] * Valentine sits back and watches with some interest ...he found him rather exciting aside from the fact he was stating the obvious. So very few people had spirit these days
[21:02] <@simonwolf> You've never seen this guy before, Valentine, which is funny, because you pretty much know everyone in this town. He's wearing robes of some fiber, but the thing is, they look new. Nobody wears new shit in this world. He's like, "A god has been born onto this place, to teach us, to show us the way! Beta shall rebuild this world!"
[21:03] <Jezebel> "This isn't about punishment or anything like that, Mimi, but rules are rules, alright? You let somethin' in, and that makes it your responsibility. Good people live up to their responsibilities, right? Come on. We'll talk about it." [21:03] * Valentine wouldn't be surprised if this Beta was a prophet or Hocus...still they are often lesser of two evils in most of his experiences... this may be the opportunity he was looking for
[21:03] <@simonwolf> August, cool beans. You're back at your place, and Wizard is looking around, whistling, complimenting your house. He's almost ignoring the half-dead guy on the bed, like it's some ornament you just don't talk about.
[21:04] <Jezebel> 2d6+1
[21:04] <Critical> Jezebel, 2d6+1: 7 [2d6=1,5]
[21:04] <august> I take the compliments graciously, but shit, we're here for a reason. "Look, there he is, babydoll... he's one of the boss's gang. If you patched him up good I think he'd put a good word in with the Caligula. Wouldn't you, sweetheart?" The last directed at the possibly-still-unconscious Sun.
[21:07] <@simonwolf> Mimi looks at you, Jezebel, he nods, but he's like, "Listen, if I'm going to deal with any infected, I'm going to need something more than this." He points at his weapon, it's like a claw hammer with a meat cleaver strapped on.
[21:08] <@simonwolf> The preacher continues his ranting, Valentine, talks about Beta some more, the science-prophets, how Project has food, water, life sustained by itself, not by raiding and pillaging and destruction. Maybe he's wrapping up, since most people but you have left. What do you do?
[21:09] <@simonwolf> Wizard looks at Sun, he winces a little, says, "Fuck, somebody really must've hated this guy." Leans down next to the bed, pokes at some of Sun's wounds, asks you for some splints and wrapping material.
[21:09] * Valentine approaches and the Preacher when things have calmed down and bows politely
[21:10] <Jezebel> Jezebel is a little ... surprised by his request. She's not intending to put him into a cage or something. "We've got guns," she says eventually. Maybe not many, but ... Sodom is a rich place. She can pick him up a gun while they're in the market. "We'll get you something decent while we're here, right?"
[21:10] <Jezebel> She leads him along toward one of the merchants here, peddling their guns -- she frowns upon it, but they're always in high enough demand that she can't risk losing that income for Sodom.
[21:10] <Valentine> "I visited the Project once, I admit parts of it are much more agreeable than Sodom.."
[21:11] <august> I will oblige - I've got firewood for my house, and some of my shirts can get torn up for bandaging. Also, I set my bottle of booze next to Wizard. "For cleaning," I say, assuming he thought it was for us to drink.
[21:12] * Valentine essentially wants to get in on someone's side... Beta /The Project seems like the only option. But he doesn't want to drag an innocent/ just a believer into it. If this man is just that
[21:13] <@simonwolf> Jezebel, you've got surplus, yeah? Spend 1-b of it to get Mimi a gun, you can decide what it is.
[21:14] <@simonwolf> Valentine, the preacher looks at you for a second - he tilts his head, susses you out - before offering a hand, says, "Fauna. Do you also wish for a brighter future with Beta in the Project?"
[21:15] <@simonwolf> Wizard does his thing, August, splashes some booze here and there, ties up some broken bones. It isn't pretty, but you think maybe Sun won't get any worse now. Wizard stands up, he's got gore on his hands, and he smiles at you. "Well, ma'am, what'd you like to do now?" He looks down at some of the booze you've got in the place, smiles.
[21:16] <Jezebel> We always got surplus 'cuz this is Sodom, baby, we trade it up righteous. Jez finds a gat for Mimi, nothin' too big, a little six-shooter, even enough bullets to fill all six barrels. It's less of a 'trade', though -- kind of part of the understanding that part of trading in Sodom's market means paying dues to the Hardholder from time to time. "Come on," she says to Mimi.
[21:16] <Jezebel> "Put that thing away, let's go."
[21:16] * Valentine shakes his hand "Names Valentine. As long the work is moral.. I'm tired of the city"
[21:17] <@simonwolf> Mimi pockets his new gun, Jezebel, he sticks it in his pants and nods. You want to just head straight to the containment cells, the ones on the edge of the Salt Flats?
[21:17] <august> "Maybe some other time, baby? I promise I won't forget. I take care of my friends. Stop by sometime when I don't have a guy dying all over my pillows, yeah?" I give Wizard a courtesy peck on the cheek before leading him out. Shit.
