    God. Dammit.

I just watched the whole series over the last two days.

Now I'm brainstorming a MLP:FiM setting for Savage Worlds.

    What have I become?!

Before long, you're woodman avatar will slowly mutate into a pony, as has happened to so many others.

At this point, it's all but inevitable.

Okay, so I just found out that hulu has EXO Squad. Like, the whole series.

    Fuck. Yes.

I've watched the first four episodes, and aside from some "LOL early 90's" hair and costume choices, it still holds up today.

I was just reading a MLP fanfiction where Luna and Celestia died or something, and the moon and sun froze in place, causing part of the planet to turn into desert and the other part to freeze. I think that would make for an awesome RP world. It could be combined with, dare I say it, Gamma World. FREE MUTATIONS FOR EEEEVERYBODY!

Thundercats--I didn't think the 80s series had that bad of animation. It was a real step up from He-Man and Transformers, IMO.

Is that X-Men anime something that's already airing or is it only trailers at the moment?

  • kfroosterkfrooster Registered User regular
The first episode of the X-Men anime is out. The animation quality is top notch. The story is pretty linear so in essence pretty hard to screw up. The dialogue is atrocious though and the characterization of Storm is shitty in that she's plays the role of the token female character on the team.

Its nice to see that Wolverine is reverted to a relatively minor role compared to other recent portrayals of him. I, for one, would love to see the X-men working as a team rather than just Wolverine + supporting cast. Storm seems fine. Animation is really good but its Madhouse so...

    Exciting Adventure Time news!
There is an intense villain coming up in the show, the Lich King. The Lich King villain was created to contrast the Ice King's bumbliness. The Lich King is pure evil and does not tell jokes, he only wants to destroy all life, including himself.

I assume this is the very same Lich King that was defeated by Billy in the past.

Here is a bit of news I'm happy and sad about at the same time.

Bioware inks deal with Funimation for feature length Mass Effect anime

I'm an anime fan, but this trend of making popular western properties into an anime is getting old. I wonder if Bioware looked at the western animators before they made this deal.

A Mass Effect animated movie in the same style as let's say Young Justice would fucking kick ass.

Well other then Warner Brothers I haven't seen much of good animation from the states lately.

Hopefully it's a complete movie, and not one of those compilation deals that have become so prominent since the Animatrix. More often than not, those don't turn out so well.

One of the latest Superman ones, I think with Captain Marvel. But I haven't seen that, so I could be wrong. There was the Halo one, which was utter shit. Green Lantern has one coming up to coincide with the release of the movie.

Also wasnt Martian MAnhunter supposed to be the last of his kind? Or was only his imidate family slaughtered?

I'm not terribly excited about this. T.O. Entertainment hasn't done anything notable as far as I've looked up. Hell, they're responsible for travesties like the one below:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qC3utWhu-I&feature=related

Even with a presumably American-sized budget, I just don't know if they can do something good. Worst case scenario: The car chase from Lair of the Shadow Broker, done in the above style. SO many better studios they could've contracted, but they apparently didn't have the money to.

There's some DAMN good studios out there that can pull out a quality product. Just look at the various groups who collabbed on Animatrix, Gotham Knight, and HALO Legends. Moreso the first two. I would've loved to have seen Studio Madhouse get hired for this- they definitely need the money. (MADHOUSE produced Redline- a movie that's a cross between Wacky Races and F-ZERO. They've also been doing a bunch of collabs with Marvel lately, most recently an X-Men series.)

His brother survived too, in the comics, but his brother is pure evil.

    As for Megan?

In the books, she's a White Martian, separate subspecies. Who are also, generally, pure evil.

I assume both powers are magic based since his tattoos were imbued by Atlantan sorcerers and glow whenever he uses his electrical powers. I'm guessing his water manipulation are simplified versions of what more fancy magics we saw in the Atlantis episode since he had to leave magic school early to become Aquaman's protege.

Young Justice has its own independent continuity so we don't exactly know what happened on Mars. However, both Artemis and (Hello!)Megan are claimed to be nieces of Justice League members. The former claim is most definitely a lie so I wouldn't be surprised if the latter turns out to be one too.

Any word on Rio? The movie looks quite fun, if not particularly deep, and the reviews are good.

Also I just watched The Illusionist, and while the art and animation was fantastic, the story and characters were lacking a little something me thinks. I liked it, though.

He can't, or he won't? :winky: Pretty sure Riddick and co. had pants in the Dark Fury animated movie.

Manga's handling Redline on DVD. Probably won't release it until it comes out over there (later this year. September ish.), probably as a means to prevent reverse-importation. ...Or, worse yet, won't be out until next year because of that. Wait, that's a measure done for Blu-Ray. DVD would be fine... Bah, just a huge clusterfuck at this point. I want my kickass racing movie!

Something makes me want to finally get around to watching Titan, but at the same time, I keep telling myself I've been missing this show because, outside of pretty much always forgetting when it's on, I figured it'd get cancelled sooner or later. It always happens to good shows on CN. Especially Genndy Tartakovsky's stuff.
