Beyond Good & Evil as well as Psychonauts were very well made games that sold like shit as well if I remember correctly.

    Such a shame.

BG&E is getting an HD rerelease on XBLA/PSN. So goddamn excited. More than I am for the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus HD rerelease, which is saying a lot.

This thread has become a playstation nostalgia thread. I have no qualms with this.

I just found SaGa Frontier on ebay for $20. I am beyond tempted to get this game along with Xenogears.

    I WANT THEM ALL.

Whenever I see this game it is always ridiculously expensive.

I'm curious about it, but I'm not $80 curious.

I don't think there are any K-marts around either. Are they even in Canada?

Ico is one of my favourite games of all time, but I spent a great deal of time fighting with its controls.

As silly as it sounds, great games don't actually have to have great gameplay. If Ico handled better, I'd love it even more, but I got incredibly invested in it regardless.

    Plus that ending. So good.

I just realized how crazy it is to think of Etrian Odyssey as a forgiving, hand holding experience. Only compared to Wizardry does that make any sense.

    Fucking Wizardry games are hard.

hell yeah that dude was awesome, kind of the main dude too, form what i remember. the game was frustratingly tedious and difficult at times, but something about it clicked with me. loved rolling up with dragons and unicorns in my group, and the heroes tearing everyone up

Nope! Wizardry PS2's maps are created along the way.

    And you will need them.

But get this: when someone dies, you better save before trying to revive them.

There's a 20% chance that the resurrection fails, and they turn to ash, lost forever.

Can you just make a new character at level 1?

It's a pretty cheap game, like $12 or thereabouts. Yes, you can make new characters, but at endgame, you get a ton of NPCs who join up, and they're better than any PC you make.

Also has a great plot. The endgame twist is unbelievable.

This game right here consumed so much of my early childhood.

    Monster Rancher up in here.

The concept of placing your random CDs in there to create new monsters had my brothers and I ransacking the house for new music discs just to see what we could find.
