You can link Guild Wars 1 with 2 via the only actual expansion pack, Eye of the North. You have to have one of the other three standalone games, though. By completing achievements in EotN you can earn cosmetic stuff for 2.

No more beta weekends. Game launches on August 25th if you pre-purchase, August 27th if you pre-order, or August 28th if you walk into Best Buy and grab a copy.

They're usually by a view point. So just look for the red markers on the map and you'll find a few here and there.

buncha skill points are attained by communing with locations that are accessible only via jump puzzles

The problem with earning HoM points after GW2 comes out is that you'd be spending time playing GW1 instead of playing GW2.

Holy fuck dudes. I have..... 7/50.

Is there any secret to earning money while going through the campaigns? Or do I just keep trucking and it'll happen eventually? Even just 40k for the faction armor sets seems like a ton right now.

After grinding my way to 30/50, some of the things I learned were:

• Pick up every single item that drops, no exceptions.
• Finish the campaigns, and always have the relevant journal with you when going through each campaign.
• Sell crafting materials to people instead of the vendors. Even basic materials like iron can be extremely valuable in bulk.
• Salvaging low-level items is often a good way to accumulate crafting materials which may sell for more then just vendoring the weapon.
• Bring Light of Deldrimor to every GWEN dungeon.
• Bring items to Nicholas the Traveler each week and trade them for Gifts of the Traveler, then sell them.
• Do Zaishen Missions, Bounties and Vanquishes.
• If you can get by with fewer henchmen, that means more money for you (although this may also mean that missions take longer).
• Find the hidden treasures in Nightfall.
• Do all of the quests which grant you Trade Contracts in Nightfall, these can be traded for Rubies and Sapphires which are extremely valuable.
• Finish War in Kryta and do the daily quests which grant you Medals of Honor.

Aside from that, there's no real easy way to get money, you'll just have to visit the Underworld or Fissure of Woe a few times. I managed to get to 30/50 without too much grinding though.

I still haven't hit 30 because I'm lazy haha. I'll hit it before release though, I barely have to do anything to get it. Honestly doubt I'll ever bother going further.

I think just playing through each game will get you around 15 points? Then after that it's just making money and buying stuff to put in your hall. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

FWIW, I wrote a vaguely helpful guide to getting the low-hanging HoM points a while back. I imagine the numbers have changed a little for how much you can sell things for, but it should still be accurate.
