I think this is part of why I disliked the movie! Flynn Jr. was faced with a more serious Grid than Flynn Sr.

I liked 100 percent of the music in the film and several of the artistic shots. The plot was shitty though. I will be rewatching it soon however so my opinion might change.

So I just saw it, and I loved it like most everyone else. There were some plot elements that were absurd, yeah, but I just came for the experience and wow was it an experience. Better than Avatar by miles, atmosphere that ranks with Blade Runner, and an overall audio/visual experience like no other this year. Most entertaining time at the movies I've had all year, along with Inception.

Everything from when Sam first entered the grid, to when he escaped the lightcycle tournament was absolutely mesmerizing. And I saw this in IMAX 3D, it was totally immersive.

Yeah, this film's script is like a seven out of ten at best but damn that soundtrack and them visuals are a perfect ten. Thus making it a far better film than the original.

yeah, that was one of the things i'm really glad they handled well.

i wished there was a little more in the way of explanation as to what the Grid was, just so i wouldn't have to have wasted 15 minutes trying to explain what Space Paranoids was to my dad.

    man this movie was awesome.

    so much style

and I'd just kiss [strike]jeff bridges[/strike] olivia wilde right on the mouth

weird CGI young jeff bridges was weird, but considering what CLU is, I kind of dig it.
since CLU is just a weird imperfect copy of jeff bridges, basically, I like that he looks sort of off and fake, always right there in the middle of the uncanny valley, building a summer home, gonna spend a lot of time there.

    I don't even think that's a spoiler.

it might be, better safe than derezzed

    General Digital Jeff Bridges spoilers
I had wish they kept digital Jeff bridges to the Grid and old grainy flashbacks. It would have worked perfectly that Clu was this copy of Flynn that was squarely in the uncanny valley. Wish they hadn't used the digital stuff in "real world" in the beginning of the movie when he says goodbye to his son and rides off.

the best part of that scene is the super obvious "can't let people see too much of his face" thing they were doing with the window frames

I love Flynn's little hippie exclamations so much

Ugh, yeah that would have killed, I bet the screenwriters are kicking themselves for not putting that in. And is it just me or is Tron Legacy the most dude-like performance we've seen from Bridges since Lebowski?

I know. I'm completely happy with his performance, its just on a level somewhere deep down inside, part of me wants to see a rug and a line about it in the movie somewhere.

Let me wallow in my terrible taste dammit! :D
