I'm super poor and without a credit card, so I'd probably end up just making art for people, but then it's all objective and you never know if they'll like it :<
Make art for me. Wrap up your mind in a gift box and send it here.

Self made stuff is the best stuff. The Bowser statue (I forget who made or got it) was probably my favorite thing that I've seen here. I'm going to try my hand at something like that this year, I just have to stalk it up and see what my Santee is into.

Oh, and if my santee lives in Europe expect to receive Maple Syrup like I have sent to European santees in past years. I will send you syrup and you'll enjoy it, dammit!
We have only really have one good brand of Peanut Butter, so if you've got some amazing foreign version, that's great!
In exchange, we can give you motor oil*
:P
We also have a amount of chocolate and lollies that don't reach foreign shores, so it's pretty easy to use it as filler in a package to make the gift extra special. Hell, I live down the road from a small chocolate factory, so you can bet your bottom dollar that my Santee is getting some delicious treats.
You know they got sued by some dick who bought the rights to a song a choir used to sing in the 20's, that apparently inspired the flute part in famous Men At Work song?
I'm not missing out this year. Signed up and excited as fuck. I want to start stalking right now so I can figure out if I'm crazy enough to make something this year.

I've signed up, and am both super excited and super nervous. It's my first forum Secret Santa despite how long I've been on the forum, wheeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I just got a second crafting idea, and it's crazy enough that it just. might. work! 8-)
Going to have heaps more fun gifting this year.
Anyone else find that one of the big highlights of recieving a gift from this Secret Santa is when a family members/friends/significant other asks you where it came from, and you tell them, they become completely bewildered? Such as, "That came from PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET!?"
This was super awesome last year (thanks again Ampix!) and I'd love to be part of it again
No problem! It was really awesome making the gift. I'm not sure if I will sign up again this year, I probably won't have the time to make something as awesome. I also haven't been posting enough recently, so I would have to poast moar.
Whenever people found out I got things from internet people, they either thought it was cute, were confused as hell, or were absolutely horrified. Their reactions were/are priceless.

When people (that I know in the flesh) find out about how incredible you all are every year, it is the same kind of reaction. Astonishment, and fear. Then surprise.

Thought I'd try my hand at some hats... sorry if I'm encroaching on some territory... my latent pixel artist demanded satisfaction, and the Christmas cheer worked my defenses down.
Yes, they're amateur, and I'm would love some feedback and tips, but I think they turned out well.

When shopping for your secret santa it's like basketball; you can run zone defense or man-to-man. Man-to-man is risky; follow someone too long and they're going to get suspicious. Zone is usually the way to go. Stay put and let targets come to you. Less obvious, easier on the feet... and you can catch up on your celebrity gossip.

One of the hardest things to do in secret santa is to make it look like you're trying to shop for someone without doing any permanent damage. They don't teach any half-savings in santa training. There are gifts designed to impress and please as efficiently as possible.
What is the general present-opening etiquette? Does one open it when they receive the package or wait until Christmas?
I uuslly berate people constantly for not waiting and then rip into mine a month ahead of time.
Some people wait and others ( like myself ) open it as soon as it arrives. If you do wait though I think the preferred course of action is to at least post saying your gift has arrived. That way at least your Santa can breathe easy knowing it has reached you safely.

It was Scotty!
He was my santa last year and made me this awesome Frenzy sculpture.
Thanks again, it feels good to put it back up. Glad you had them in Photobucket still, it would have been harder to find them on my computer again.
Just make sure it's Saturn!

And now is the time I start watching carefully what I post, dropping small hints from now until Christmas. Huzzah!
