Awesome Alarm Clocks

Hey, so my alarm clock is becoming unreliable, and I'm having trouble finding another replacement: that's where you guys come in. And maybe something with an iPod dock, so I don't have to wake up to the Radio. Anything from the 100 to 200 dollar range is fine, so recommend on!

Something stylish, funky, funny, awesome preferred. Nothing boring, please. :)

    Human male seeking alarm clock.

    Seeking these desirable traits:
    • will reliably wake me up when I set it to do so (will never fail to sound and will not be so quiet that I ever sleep through it)
    • the noise it makes will not be so annoying that it makes me want to rip my ears off, because the last thing I need is to be stressed-out first thing in the morning

No iPod dock, but not boring.

I suggest think geek for something like this:

But they don't seem to have any ipod docks.

Thinkgeek has a really sweet Stephen Fry alarm clock (dude who played Jeeves in the tv series w/ Hugh Laurie).

No iPod dock though. And probably only cool if you're a fan of the series, but if you are, it's super awesome!

They're pretty sweet. It has never failed to wake me up.

I guess I would settle for something that did not have an iPod dock, as long as it was fun but practical. I can't handle an alarm clock that hides from me, or anything like that. :p

I really liked this but, they ran out of Walnut! :(

    Clocky is very cute, though.

Edit: On second thought, I'm going with the wood LED clock. Thanks!

WHatever you do with whatever song you want to wake up, make sure you select the 'gradual volume increase' option. It slowly makes the song louder and louder but starts very soft to prevent that jarring awake

I'm still getting one for my sister and mom for Christmas, though.

If your open to using your computer as an alarm clock you can do that. I use iSnooze and like the name implies it uses iTunes to play music at set times and also has the gradual volume increase option. It's pretty nice since it has my entire music collection to choose from when set to random or I can set it to play a specific playlist. I don't think it does specific song but as I tend to snooze a lot I prefer it playing from a playlist.

Yeah, I suspect it works much better when you're not shouting abuse at it with a load of fabric in front of your face. :P
