Glossolalia - in our dreams, we are the eldritch horrors

What the fuck is this?
Glossolalia, the SE++ forum RPG series started up by DE?AD two years ago.

Oh this is that one roleplaying thread that I never click...
That's right! Hopefully this should clear things up for you!

So what exactly is this all about?
It's a play-by-post RPG that has a tendency to get fairly silly, run by our modest GMs DE?AD and Dubh (and also Speed now!). We've gone through a number of games already: from Glossolalia 4++ (which covered a scat-filled medieval setting to one filled with space-faring cats), to RADlands (Post-Apocalyptic), to the three newest games, Deucarta (Science-based medieval), Royal Blue (Wacky narrative-based world where any and all things exist) and Derelict (Nautical themed fantasy?).

Alright, can I make a character to kick sand in your character's face?
Sure! Currently we have three games running: Deucarta (run by Dubh), Royal Blue (DE?AD) and Derelict (Speed Racer). The former is currently on hiatus, but the latter two are still open for new players so feel free to make your interest known in the thread and we'll help you out!

So how do I make a character?
We play using DE?AD's homemade 100% system, a free-form set of guidelines that whittle your character sheet into two neat lines of text. All rolls are done with a d100, but here's the kicker: the GMs are kind enough to take all the logistics on their side! That means 0% number crunching and power-gamey bullshit, 100% narrative gameplay.

The link to the rules is at the top of the thread, and the GMs and other players will surely help you make your character!

Click HERE for the rules on how to make your character!

Alright, so which game should I play?
Royal Blue or Derelict, read about them below:

Deucarta

Magic is science. Golems are robots. Spirit philosophers roam the land. Psychics and Wizards battle over ancient artifacts that defy all natural law and reason. This is Deucarta.
Pack your bags and don't forget your sword, 'cause there will be Hell to pay before this journey is over and you don't got the time to stop for lunch.

Choose your adventure! (During play, include the two code words with your stat line!)
Spoiler:

Royal-Blue-Badge.png

The Code of the Royal Blue
An Agent must be an upstanding citizen and an exemplary person of impeachable moral fiber.
An Agent sacrifices himself to protect others. To do less is grounds for removal.
An Agent suffers no weakness of character that would render him a danger to others.
An Agent wears his badge proudly, and openly. His uniform is the colour of the Shield.
An Agent upholds Compassion, Peace, and Freedom, but above all Justice.
An Agent is before all things is an Agent.

DERELICT

Long ago, civilization was destroyed and the world became a vast desert. Now mankind struggles to survive in the ruins of its former greatness.

also it's nautically themed because why the fuck not.

[DLC ACCESSORIZERS AND BAUBLES][Add Points]

Introducing The RED Room:
Located in Central City's thriving commercial district, adjacent to the world famous Black night club, the RED Room is an exclusive establishment catering to those looking for a more meaningful purchase than the tourist traps and chain stores can offer.

Players may trade in old, unwanted DLC, including Missions, Equipment, and Cards, for Glossolalia Credits, which can be used, in turn, to purchase from the RED selection of items. Old DLC has a trade in value of 250g each, while Glossolalia Collectible Card Game Cards fetch a full 500g. If you have a Platinum card, you may trade it in for 1000g, though we ask that you hold onto your Black Cards, as they offer entrance to the notoriously exclusive Black club, along with the obvious benefits of status.

The jet lifts off the platform, hovering for a moment as Clutch rotates its engines up into the flight position and adjusts the wing panels. He eases forward on the throttle, and the plane tears away, Central City rapidly falling away them, the endless blue sea rushing by at absurd speeds below.

Twenty minutes later, the jet enters Dubai airspace, and a blinking readout lets Clutch know he's been cleared for landing. Bringing the vessel around, he finds his landing zone atop a massive structure of steel, gleaming in the desert light. Khazad Tower, dwarfed by the absurd skyline of the city, but still recognizable for the massive, half-completed golden arch rising from its northern face.

Real gold by the way, thought I should point that out.

Clutch brings the plane down, weaving through the jumble of multi-colored plastic tubes that surround the squat little skyscraper, finally settling onto the helipad on its roof, the surface criss-crossed with strangely tinted shadows by the sunlight streaming through the maze above.

As the team exits the plane, several men are already piling out of the spherical glass elevator at the opposite end of the roof - a handful of toughs in black suits, and a single, handsome man in the robes befitting an oil baron. He throws his arms wide as he approaches, a smile spreading across his face. "Agents! It is an honor to have you here! Welcome!"

    [DPR3]
An engine growls from somewhere in the NADS as Becca turns the key. The Agent smiles. "The NADSh will take ush where we're needed. It'sh never failed me before."

[Northpaw, Flag Day, and Great White +10% Special]

The armory proves to be excessively well appointed. In fact, it seems to have at least ten of each bit of CCPD standard equipment, and a nearly limitless supply of all manner of scavenged gear. Not to mention tons, and tons, and tonnes of ammo, Tag rounds included.

The Agent looks sternly at Flag Day. "The NADSh ish not a war machine, and it never will be, if I have anything to shay about it." He looks off into the distance. "Sho many losht. Worldsh deshtroyed. Never again." You get the feeling he's having a flash back, but you aren't invited.

Thankfully, he's pulled from his dire reminiscing by a sudden crash, and a violent rocking as the NADS touches down, throwing guns from shelves, sending steam flying about, knocking people on their asses, and generally causing a mess. The Agent (still standing) beams. "Well then, I believe we're here. Whoshe firsht?"

    [FTS9]
"No," Captain Harris says, locking his gaze on Lorenzo. "A demigod, is, as the name should 'ave clue you in, half-god. A demi-god is classified by the presence of non-divine heritage. The Winter Wind is wholly divine, simply of a lower stratum of majesty. Calling it a demigod is as inaccurate as calling you a magician, but, then..." He lets the sentence trail, cocking an eyebrow and curling his lip up.

He glances down to Small Time for a long moment before he reaches into his pocket, pulls out a cigar and holds it out in front of him. "Tabbaccus Contracticus," he mumbles, handing the smoke to Jake as it shrinks.

The Omnicopter, resting on one of the several helipads, is a large, troop-transporting model, similar to a Sea King, but significantly more streamlined and impressive-looking - all glossy blue paint and silver trim. Both blade-mounts have been removed, and a pair of stabilizer wings have been added to its sides, each containing a large glass sphere within which blue energy sparks and crackles. The craft emits a low, pulsing buzz, just high enough to not count as subsonic, just low enough to make your teeth feel a little fuzzy.

Captain Harris nods to Ghost. "I assume you can fly this, yes?"

Howell exits first, his steel suit alternating between scintillation and a dull gleam as he passes under the isolated sunbeams. He gives the Baron a business-like nod as he approaches, his face serious.

"Unit PTY7 at your service, Baron." He says in his rich baritone, his eyes sweeping the building around them. "I assume this is the structure that has disturbed..." Howell fixes his eyes on the Baron, "Whatever it is that you have disturbed. Brief us on what has been happening down there and how many civilians are still unaccounted for."

I think some of you were planning on heading to PAX East right?

My mom's a flight attendant, she gets discounts on hotel rooms, pretty sure if you're interested I can work something out to help you get one for cheap

I believe the hotel would be the Comfort Inn near the airport, which isn't exactly close to the convention center but the subway's no big thing right

Anyway, lemme know if you're interested. I know it's a ways away yet but my mom's definition of "late" is earlier than most people's definition of "early."

As Clutch exits the plane, he notices a large metal briefcase with a faintly embossed badge on one side, tucked neatly under the captain's chair. Best take that.

Khazad claps a hand on Clover's armored shoulder and grips his hand in a firm, enthusiastic handshake. "Please, please call me Khazad! No need for such formalities for my honored guests!" A brief round of handshaking and salutations follows, at the end of which he waves everyone toward the glass elevator. "Please, let us get out of this heat."

Entering the elevator, he turns back to Howell. "Yes, this is the building in question. Terrible things. Construction was going well, even ahead of schedule, but a few days ago there was a great roar from the excavation site, and the team there stopped responding. We of course rushed to see what was the trouble, but when we arrived it was already too late. The team was gone, the pit had been torn open, twice damaging the surrounding support structures, and the shipping container in which the balls were kept had been destroyed." He shakes his head and wrings his hands together. "There is no bottom to that pit. Only darkness.

"We have still heard no word back from the men, and I am to fearful to risk a search party."

    [DPR3]
The doors of the NADS swing open, and golden light spills in, the smell of plants and dirt baking under a warm sun, the buzzing of insects, a chirping of birds, and a distant rumble.

Stepping outside, Vertigo and Northpaw find themselves on the side of an immense cliff, below which spreads a vast, untamed jungle of purest emerald. In the distance, nearly at the edge of sight, a plane stretches out to the horizon, and beyond that, tall mesas. Even from this distance you can see the herd moving across that distant expanse. Massive bodies trundling forward on thick legs, long necks swinging about to look for predators.

A roar rises from somewhere in the jungle.
