Point 2 is incredibly naive. You're suggesting the U.S. should alleviate the problem by being more honest and forthright, yet I assure you other nations would not do likewise which would just put us at a significant disadvantage. Diplomacy isn't suddenly going to become more honest and friendly across the world just because the U.S. decides to "clean up" their act so to speak.
Obviously there is no such thing as a "right" decision in the minds of everyone, but the more well informed people are, the more we will properly be able to make decisions.
I obviously don't think that other countries are just going to stand up and be honest and open.
All I am saying is this.
There is information out there that is not known to the public.
I do not believe that all of this information is better kept secret.
Some of it, yes. All of it, no.
Nor am I suggesting that there should be some sort of committee who decides what should be said.
However I am saying that leaking information will force the government to get their shit together.
i mean if something happened to south korea imagine how it would affect the starcraft 2 pro scene
Maybe some Americans would finally have a shot at the title.

In a real democracy the government wouldnt hide information to the population, because the population is the government.
And to think that the United States try to spread their model all around the world, boo
This coming from the dude who went to Cuba and then bragged about the cheeseburger you had at your hotel. Cognitive dissonance what?
It was not a cheeseburger your comment is irrelevent
And I have never said Cuba's ''one-party-democracy'' was a model either
Thanks for completely missing my point, though I'm not at all surprised. You went to another country and basically crowed about how you completely avoided their food that you had determined is awful, and without a hint of irony you think you're qualified to denounce how the U.S. at large interacts with the rest of the world. Hence my comment about cognitive dissonance. You're basically the model of what is perceived as the ugly American traveler, except you think that that you're superior just because you're Canadian and you think you know what the fuck you're talking about. It's goddamn hilarious.

I listen to this before engaging in any political discussion:
I don't think anyone should place utmost faith in information from strictly one source. In this case the government.
I understand this is probably coming off as me being afraid of the gubberment, but that is really not the case. However it is a lot easier to trust people if they do in fact tell you the whole story.

Jesus christ druhim are you fucking retarded
You bring back shit thats months old about some burger in cuba and then make up that whole ''completely avoided their food blah blah blah''
I never said I hated cuban food. I said the food they served in the restaurents around the hotels and in the hotels were horrible (beside everything made with pork). It wasnt even cuban food, it was the cuban version of some dishes like pizza and such.
At the time I was traveling with my friends, who didnt feel like visiting the capital, so we didnt get to explore cuban culture.

Fucking Direct Democracy. A damn recipe for disaster is what that is.
Yes, one please.
I'm so original.
I could deal with a Benign Despot type situation. Shit gets done at least.
Until the Benign Despot dies and everything turns to liquid shit of course.
Saved two audits 8-)
Literally have three classes and one graded class
And that class is a paper
I'll just crawl back to my miserable little province and mumble obscenities about the englishmans being assholes again
A classy maneuver
You'll hafta fight China for it, they got there first
Well.
Goddammit.
I wonder if it's a good thing
I wouldn't want to deal with North Korea
But it makes me wonder if China doesn't help out NK that NK does something batshit crazy
Hey.
He means "englishmen" in the quebecker sense, that is all anglophones

It took me ages to figure out that Liiya is a lady.
I mean because nobody usually refers to her as such and I assume everyone online is a dude.
Also democracy where the people decide everything simply isn't viable in the modern day. Unless you're Iceland.
Hahaha
And she sounds like a cockney
Clearly she's a lady
