Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I've wanted to whiten my teeth for a while now but the dental treatments seem pretty expensive.
This stuff would require me to spend 2 x 30 min blocks a day for two weeks to achieve 'results!', apparently. Pretty sure i could do that. And it's only $99, which is kind of appealing... I wanted to know if anyone had any success with these do-it-yourself home teeth whitening things or if I should just trust the skeptical impulse that brought me here to ask about this and avoid it.
I had some pretty good success with hydrogen peroxide. Or you can get that Listerine white bottle that has hydrogen peroxide in it along with some other stuff. It is really cheap compared to other stuff, and I'm sure the results aren't quite as good, but I was pleased. I used it for around 3 weeks and saw a noticeable improvement, even well before the three weeks ended.
I haven't used it since (1-2 months) but my teeth are still whiter than they used to be.
I have used in the past with some success a Tooth paste called Lacer Blanc. Another way to whiten your teeth is using pulverized Guava leaves and brush your teeth.
Hear my warnings, unbelievers. We have raised altars in this land so that we may sacrifice you to our gods. There is no hope in opposing the inevitable. Put down your arms, unbelievers, and bow before the forces of Chaos!
I had pretty good results from using paint-on whiteners in the past, specifically Crest Night Effects. I hate the strips and trays because I have to go without talking for half an hour , along with any other reason you may want to use your mouth :winky:. In all seriousness, I like the idea of one small step after brushing my teeth to give me a super white smile, and the paint-on products work even if you have crowding.
I'll throw in another vote for using whitening toothpaste as well.

Most of them claim that they don't cause sensitivity but it's best to start brushing with Sensodyne Pro-Enamel a week prior to whitening.
Also if you have white spots on your teeth it will make those a lot more prominent.
