Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I'm trying to find a 80's cartoon that I vaguely remember but don't know the title. It was in English in the 80's about robots. There was either two or three villains (a girl and a guy or 2 guys) who use robots to ride in based on Animals, I especially remember an Elephant and an Ostrich robot. I think the heroes were either in one robot or a combiner of sort. I don't remember much but hopefully someone would help me remember it.
The YouTube video depicts something like what you describe, and the Wikipedia description of Ippatsuman fits too. It looks like it might have been recut into a somewhat different show for the US market.
Spin isn't in academia? You're in for a real disappointment when you go to your first conference and see two old men with mighty beards politely implying that the other person is more capable of fucking a dog then writing a scientific paper.

Probably not what you're thinking because it's Japanese, but it sounds a little like a chopped-up (or possibly remade for an American audience) version of Yatterman. Everything I'm finding that even vaguely fits the description is Japanese though.
The avalanche has already started; it is too late for the pebbles to vote.
