it was not bad as far as harry potter films are concerned
lack of snape was disappointing but i assume this will be rectified in the second half
What? How can Snape not be in the movie? It has been a while since I read the books, but I distinctly remember that he was in the first chapter. This is why I hate the movies. They are so bad at keeping things true to the story.
He was in the movie.
I haven't actually read the last book yet, I just have a general idea of what happens.
You should. It isn't the best book in the series, but it is a good book. It does a pretty good job of finishing up the story.
But goddamn did she go on a killing spree. "People like this character? He/she is dead!" At least that's what it felt like.
that's what it felt like when
mad-eye died. like right at the beginning
he was one of my favourites
Its worse at the end of the book.
Pointlessly killing off multiple characters. Didn't even have a scene with them being killed just oh by the way, this list of people are all dead.

Yep. More end of book spoilers:
I don't remember which one, but one of the Weasley twins dying just felt to the point of killing people for the sake of killing them. They were my favorite. But Mad Eye, Dobby, and quite a few others hit me pretty hard, too.

tl;dr Some sheriff in Florida essentially became a vigilante and used a technicality to arrest the guy for breaking a poorly written Florida law, even though he lives in Colorado.
They even admit that they barely have the jurisdiction to do this.

Yeah it's pretty retarded.

what's up with you, Feral? Haven't talked in a bit.
'pointlessly' killing people is kind of the point. dobby died in this grandiose scene, sure, completing his character arc as a free elf with independence who died for his friends. but ron's brother didn't- neither did mad-eye. not every death is harped on, and i think that's poignant. in war lots of people die and you don't have time to individually and extensively mourn every casualty. it reinforces 'holy shit, this evil group is murdering people, even fan favorites, like it's nothing'. much to do, etc

Is it really a guide for pedophiles or is this the ground zero mosque all over again, where it was neither at ground zero nor a mosque.
If I remember correctly, DeShadowC has an aunt that wrote an article about it after reading it.
May not have been his aunt, but I do remember reading an article of someone that read it and what they thought of it. It was a pretty good write up of the book and put it into perspective. She did say that the writer seems to jump around with his true intentions with the book as well as what the book is really aiming to do.
The content of the book is apparently telling them to control themselves around children, told from the guy's experience from being molested as a kid. At least from all the accounts I saw, it is definitely not a 'how to avoid being caught' book.
Of course, nobody can actually get around to reading the book since it's essentially impossible to get ahold of, and you bet the book itself won't actually be entered as evidence in the trial if they get that far.

Ah that's old news. It was brought back up in the thread about the book a couple days ago. The sheriff of Polk county needs to learn how the law works though.
Also my guess is that the vigilante Sheriff was probably hoping they could get a warrant on his house and bust him for having a cache of child porn or was a registered sex offender, but the Colorado officials already checked him out and he had/was neither.

From what I hear it's a guide for pedophiles who don't want to break any laws.
To me, that's a 2 sentence book. Here's my guide to pedophiles who don't want to break any laws:
"For the love of god do not touch any children and please stay physically as far away from them as possible. Also, do not communicate with the children."
Maybe I should get a copy and find out.

Props Will and folks. Last LoL game was loads of fun.
i just got frustrated with it; i guess i like to use vent to communicate strategically and when i can't it's just aggrivating.
also, i like playing with you guys and not as much against you. i guess part of it is just the dynamics of the game.
You seem to actually be trying to win in houses rather than have fun. Try to have fun first, then you'll have fun winning or losing.
yeah; i don't really remember getting frustrated with them before. i guess i've gotten more mindful of team strategy and roles and stuff, and it makes me kind of crazy when i want my team to be doing a thing and they aren't and i don't have time to type out what's up.
i dunno. maybe i am having a hard time getting into the proper spirit of them or something.

Cousin. Here's our thread on it. OP has a link to my cousin's blog post.
Sick. Tired. But! I finally got the silly people up here to approve me for at least antiandrogen stuff and I aced my exams. So stuff is going well.
