Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

It is a tale told by an idiot, full of [Chat and Brainstorming], signifying nothing.

But if the cause be not good, the king himself hath a heavy reckoning to make, when all those legs and arms and heads, chopped off in battle, shall join together at the latter day and cry all 'We died at such a place;' some swearing, some crying for a surgeon, some upon their wives left poor behind them, some upon the debts they owe, some upon their children rawly left. I am afeard there are few die well that die in a battle; for how can they charitably dispose of any thing, when blood is their argument? Now, if these men do not die well, it will be a black matter for the king that led them to it; whom to disobey were against all proportion of subjection

Let's get this thread off to a properly awkward start, shall we?

VanityPants, you're awesome. This is your Christmas present, but since I'll be out of town on Christmas day, you get it early.

    http://tindeck.com/listen/cgjp

It's all about you. I could have PMed it to you, but whatever. At 2:30am posting it here seems like a really good idea.

    Enjoy.

This makes me feel double terrible for not being original and also for winning under false pretenses.

I'm sort of just making this up, but does anyone know of a full-screen writing program that lets people with no will-power lock it onto the screen for a set amount of time, preventing you from dicking around on other documents or online?

    Several!

I just can't think of any names right now.

One of them is written in .NET/C# and has green text.

Give me the skinny on how things work here! What's this and that do? What threads are worth checking out, and which ones should I sway from?

    I need some quality control!

    0WBv0.png
  • VanityPantsVanityPants Registered User regular
The best threads are all of the ones started by me, obviously!

Seriously, though, the chat thread is the place to be -- then we have two NaNo threads for those things, the Nevermore thread is for our community radioplay if you're interested in getting involved. The other threads are mostly all stories and shorts by members here!

Go check those out, read some of the stories, offer some critiques!

And check out the IRC thread and come chat with us there.

The best thread this forum has ever produced is Ori's drinks thread.

Then he told us it was obviously a joke thread.

    Still the best thread.

No, I think Tube's thread about notepads and pens and crap was the best, if only because people failed to click he was making fun of them

To this day I'm sure people swear by their $80 pen and paper of inspiration +1

You can get a good story out of it at least! A story about Munkus and his evil. It beats being temp-banned for being drunk.

That's a very close second! I prefer my view, though, which is that everyone knew Tube was taking the piss, and decided to take the thread seriously anyway. It is a very important matter.

So all this talk about old threads has me nostalgic for old WB.

You know who was a massive arsehole?

    J. Grant.

Remember how he was banned, and then unbanned, because he's apparently good friends with Gabe and Tycho eye-are-ell?

    Good times.

I really need to write the story that I told VP I would write at least a week ago. I can't believe I've gone from writing every day to not writing anything ever. Can I blame Christmas shopping?
