Those bugs were such bullshit jesus
Sheesh, you know what I mean. It's a real review but he's using a false persona as a gag. I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to call it.
I've seen all of his reviews including the newest one. I'm well aware that he's a competent and fo-reals reviewer.

wow
Well, it was the best Star Wars movie in over 20 years.
And like the first 2 prequels, it only gets bad when you turn your brain back on. While you're watching it, you're blinded by the fact that it's Star Wars. I mean, I didn't realise how awful TPM was until I got home later.
I guess I never turned my brain off then, because I thought it was pretty bleh when I watched it the first time
I wasn't blinded by anything except by how idiotic the plot of the entire prequel series is, how hamfisted the acting is, and how terrible the dialog is
But, on the other hand, In a strange way it's kind of encouraging to me, because Plinkett's points, if anything prove that it doesn't take a whole lot of effort to take something that's pointless and lame and making it into something interesting.
It's a far better lesson that I would have got out of the Star Wars prequels otherwise.

no the star wars prequels are pretty much terrible all of the time
Well, you're old enough to have seen the first one at the pictures, it was my first Star Wars on a big screen and I was so excited that the entire movie could have been a 2 hour text crawl and I probably wouldn't have noticed.
the lesson to take away from this is that children are stupid
Technically I went to see it a 3rd time, but I only went because there was a storm and I worked right next door. I napped through almost the entire thing as it was right after work and I was tired.
which was insane, but I guess even if I didn't hate phantom menace at the time, it had shaved off a lot of excitement for the new ones
but I was like, 9-14 at the time

my opinion of them got progressively worse each year afterwards
Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
or maybe Ebert has enough perspective to just laugh at it instead of getting huffy
considering he posted it on his blog
I still stand firmly behind my ordering of the prequels.
I retain hope that the effects were good enough where a lot of the computer animators and special effects guys used the movies as points on their resumes to get jobs with better production companies
Also wow I never noticed the shot reverse shot stuff
Whatever. The prequals suck ass. the new MMO will rock.
But Dichotomy is right, It seems like there wasn't a lot of thought put into the prophecy and its implications!
And I really do enjoy these reviews, although sometimes I feel the torture scenes go a little too far. This latest one wasn't so bad, but the Attack of the Clones review had a few bits that got really uncomfortable.
This always really bothered me because in a sane world this prophecy would not be a positive for the Jedi.
it's like poetry
