There's nothing like getting dressed on a Sunday morning, going out in the cold, walking all the way to the church, only to realize you got the time completely wrong and arrived just in time for the final dismissal blessing.
So we get stiff once in a while. So we have a little fun. What’s wrong with that? This is a free country, isn’t it? I can take my panda any place I want to. And if I wanna buy it a drink, that’s my business.
I never really watched Sailor Moon. Now Tenshi Muyo!, I will say my first anime crush when I was younger was probably Ryoko.
My friends in high school called me Mihoshi. *blows bubbles*
I was so happy when I saw Mihoshi, but that was because I didn't know there were people who weren't White/Japanese in anime so it made me feel happy someone kind of looked like me.
At that point I kind of only had Sailor Pluto and she was ambiguous at best (but in the manga she's definitely darker than everyone else).
To be fair actually I don't think there are any specialist DVD shops in the UK anymore, aside from HMV. Virgin became Zavvi, which went out of business, Borders has also gone out of business. There's Fopp but there isn't a lot of those around, and anywhere else that sells DVDs also sells other stuff as well (WHSmith, the supermarkets, etc).
HMV is been posting some serious losses and is closing a load of stores, though they kind of have themselves to blame for that, for setting their online prices to be competitive with Amazon, but their in-store prices much higher. When I was looking for Season 4 of Supernatural, Amazon had it for £12 and HMV for £15 online and £60 in store.
Yup. I was just discussing this today with the family. I reckon if HMV continue the way they're going, they'll be next for the chop.

From where I'm standing, those prices are insane. The £60's not so much, because that sounds like 'just released' pricing, and some stores take longer than others to bring it down with age. Season 4 of Supernatural, when it came out, was $60 Cdn. It's now $23.49 on amazon.ca and would go for about ten dollars more in stores.
Oh man, Mihoshi. To this day when someone is explaining something to me I will randomly look up at them, cock my head to the side and say "Are...are you a jeweler?" God. That inside joke has been running for like 10 years now.
According to a bunch of guys in the middle of the street with placards, Judgement day is going to be on the 21st of May this year.
Do they base this opinion on ancient secret knowledge encoded in everyday items but that only they themselves can decrypt and understand?
I don't know. The placards said they were giving out "FREE PROOF" but I, for some reason, decided not to take any.
The guy who made the prediction claims he discovered a math formula, based on multiplying repeating numbers in the Bible, the answer corresponding with the number of days since Jesus was crucified, and if you count that number of days, you get May 21st.

Ugh, no way. Even then, these people. I worked at a gaming store. We had numerous types of customers. The goths/dark lord wannabes, usually nice but kind of creepy. The old gamers who had been buying rpgs since D&D first edition. One guy we grabbed a copy of everything that was published a by a certain group that was new every weeks shipment. Guy dropped like 500 a month on rpg books. Really nice guy, was an engineer. His wife was cool. The younger gamers, mostly ccgs but after 3rd edition getting into D&D. The anime nerds. These were the people walking around with binders of DBZ cards, cat ears and such and bought Big Eyes, Small Mouth and such. They were usually annoying as hell.

Boxed sets range from 30 to 100€ here. 100€ is very rare, though, reserved for Star Trek seasons, it seems.

They do odd stuff sometimes - for example, in Croydon they have two stores about 200metres from each other - large stores too. I think they took over the Zavvi but never got around to closing their legacy store - maybe due to leases or something. Either way

The whole idea behind that game series is a stunning return to games being awesome.
Not just one but a handful. Like also Asuka and others.
