Nintendo DS question

I have an original Nintendo DS that was bought in North America. I currently live in the UK and it seems my DS outlet charger has broken. Will I have to purchase a North American charger along with a power converter or can I buy a UK charger for my DS Phat?

    I have an original DS from the states that I merrily charged in the UK using a UK charger. Go nuts. Just be aware that the DS has changed charged with every single iteration.
