this year's lineup doesn't seem that mindblowing really, but i'm also pretty anti-festival

good good i need voices of reason to convince me this isn't amazing

because this would be such an expensive, poorly-timed trip for me and i still really really want to go

coachella kind of has a reputation for these totally amazing reunion/first in a long time performances (last year had pavement, sly stone, faith no more, and the specials), but this year the only one is dfa1979. they're a cool band and all, but it's just a bit of a come down. still time to announce more though.

I'm assuming 'Crystal Castlest' is a typo, otherwise a band really wanted to stick it to Alice Glass and Ethan Kath.

But yeah, really want to go. Not sure which day is the best though. Friday has Crystal Castles and Sleigh Bells, Saturday has Gogol Bordello, Two Door Cinema Club, Foals, and Freeland Whales, and Sunday has Chromeo, Best Coast, She Wants Revenge, and Yelle. Plus I don't mind most of the headliners.

yeah i am too, and tyler doesn't seem particularly psyched about it based on his twitter. it's a weird environment considering how much they just want to play to teenagers basically. still, though, they're great fun live.

So I will wait for the Pitchfork and Lollapalooza announcements which will probably be just as good

No, but really I've never seen the appeal of big concert festivals like this. Too many people packed too tightly together for far too long when its already too warm/hot depending when it is, and usually if you want to actually see the band you have to get there early and if its multi stage you're really fucked (like Warped Tour).

Now there's a real Hipster fest.

I'd rather just go see a concert with 4 bands I like and save on travel money.

Eh, the electronic lineup isn't as exciting as last year's, but there are still some pretty rad cats on there

I mean, Sasha. Yes. Afrojack and Laidback Luke are pretty cool. Paul van Dyk... getting kinda up there but still a classic. Although he probably wouldn't play something that old. I had no idea shpongle did live performances, that would be fucking awesome. And the Bloody Beetroots are kickin' rad.

Pretty much I'd go if I had the dough and the free time and a camping spot, none of which I have, so :(

That is a surprising number of really good bands, a fair amount of pretty mediocre ones, and amazingly few very bad ones. Too bad money is not a thing that I have to spend on stuff like that.

I wasn't too sure about Semisonic and Goo Goo Dolls. Seems like the person who made it also had some musical vendettas
