I know I'm fairly new and unknown within the guild, but perhaps it would be best if you both took this outside the forums and dealt with it by other means, and let the people who still enjoy the game and playing it with each other do so in peace, and not taint the integrity of the guild any more than might have already been done.
You could've taken the high road and ignored it. Neither of you are blameless, here. And sometimes, well... sometimes you've got to tell your friends that you love them but they're being retarded. And I love you guys both, but you're being retarded.
Maybe I'm just some dumb guy who doesn't play much anymore and wasn't all that great at it.
But if you're both going to be like this about it take it out of the thread. Nobody gives a shit about some big production of "I'm leaving because of person x" "Well person y is also a z so I'm leaving too!"
All that does is sow MORE drama and things we don't want or need.

I shared this because I am just the latest link in the chain of people leaving because of Steve. Nobody likes to hear about drama, and nobody likes to deal with it. I'm sorry, but I do feel that this had to be done in this manner. I feel that if I had let it stew in private, then the next person who had the same experiences as me and the rest would simply leave without a word, with most of the guild none the wiser.
I talked extensively with Sidely and Siegfried about this, about the history behind it. I do not feel that this subject would be best treated behind closed doors. I do not feel like this should have been kept a secret for only those 'in the know.' Again, I bring this up in public so that the next time it happens, the people who would have left silently will stand up for themselves.

My biggest issue with this approach right now is that you are taking the guild and name it's made for itself as a quality, chill environment and you're dragging it through the mud. Regardless of how you feel this should be handled, you are inadvertently bringing down the very thing you built and love.
I will say that while unfortunate, Munk (and Steve, if he did actually leave) will be missed if they do decide to leave the guild - both brought a lot to the table and are good folk in their own right.
I do want to stress to everyone, however, that the guild will remain the same as it always was despite this recent outcropping of drama - if anyone is looking for a guild where friendship, fun, self-improvement and general cock-dickery (Jeeves Hunts!) are traits you hold paramount, we welcome you.
Air your grievances if you must, but posting a private conservation is probably not the best way to get people rushing to your defense. It certainly can't be evidence for anything, as that's probably not the whole conservation.
Steve quitting over this seems like an excuse to bow out of the game without stating the real reasons. Which is better than quitting because of this, which looks ridiculously rash.
Complaining about having spats like this in the thread, for reasons of looking bad in public, falls flat. You guys don't have a private forum and people should be allowed to voice issues (albeit in a more graceful manner). You should have been aware of such problems arising when you initially made the decision for this thread to be our primary source of communication outside the game.
It's unfortunate to lose two members of the guild that I look up to, but I'm not pretending this is a major issue. Because, honestly, it isn't.

I posted the entire conversation that we had between us. It doesn't exactly make me shine in the best light. I'd rather people see the conversation, the accusations, and come to their own conclusion about the truth. I didn't want to paraphrase Steve's words for fear of taking them out of context. I didn't want to post his reaction without having the original setup. I wanted my issue here to be so boldly out in the open because none of the past ones were. If you believe that the guild has been totally drama-free, then you have been misled, and it is my intention to show that here. The drama happened, but it happened in the dark, behind closed doors.
It would be a lie to pretend that there has never been any drama. I admit to being a source of some of it, my behavior in response to my real life problems has not been appropriate. Or even if it has, I should never have dragged the guild into it. I realize I have hurt some people and said some things I shouldn't have, and I regret that. I am sorry for that.
I can only hope that the guild will improve from this point forward.

First: On behalf of myself and many others in the guild, I hope you reconsider your departure, Steve. You're a cool dude, as I recently confirmed when we spoke on Saturday. I'm sorry if I left the impression that I thought otherwise; that wasn't my intent, and I hold nothing against you personally. However, if you do choose to leave, I understand, because this whole thing is very silly.
Second: Munkus, I do not think this was an appropriate way to voice your concerns. But as you told me, you wanted the opportunity for one final say in the matter, and you got it. However, as the person who now has to deal with this mess, I'd appreciate it if you could just step away for now. Your point has been made.
Third: I agree with Rorus, there is no need to hide these issues. It'd be nice if it could've been kept civil, but so be it. The point is, we'll emerge from this as the same guild we've always been, just short two great members. It'd take a lot more than this to tear down this guild, and I have no problem displaying that resilience to the public. We'll move on.

I have no idea what's been going on but I just want to say, I'll be sorry to see either of you go. You both seemed to have a passion for the game that made it more fun for me to play just being in the guild with you.
I hope you can both find what you want be it playing with us or elsewhere, or quitting entirely.

If you have some personal beef that leads you to no longer want to be in the guild, fine, whatever. Nobody's going to get on you for not playing with people you don't want to play with.
But this speaking-for-the-trees routine is fucking dumb. If there is some "issue" going on, then fine, let's have it out. But we haven't heard that from you or from anybody else who fell victim to whatever the problem supposedly is. All I see is the two of you using officious language to have a remarkably childish argument.

Anyways, I know our raid comps have varied erratically the past two weeks, and that leads to people with entry-level gear and perhaps unfamiliar with their class in a new raiding environment. But that's still not an excuse to start trash 30 minutes late. And that's not to call anyone out, but a general request to be on the ball.
That's fair. I wasn't really paying attention to when we started each day this past week since I show up early anyway (and I'm one of the new ones) so I'm not sure what was normal or what we were aiming for.

I named names to Sidely and Korvos. I was explicit and detailed to them. I do not need to be so explicit now to bring up this issue for the purposes I have stated, which is to bring attention to the problem so that, in the future when this happens again, people will know they are not alone and can/should come forward.

We've been starting a bit late lately due to my own incompetence. Raids are always around 5:30PM PST (8:30PM server time).
It always helps to log on a little early, too. Getting the group up and running by 5:15 is always welcome.

Since you apparently want to continue the drama, you can pretty much append my name to munkus's comments (grammer aside: is the correct for munkus's or munkus'). Decided not to make an issue of it because I had bigger things to worry about than it. But if you wanted some other names what munkus is saying is what zeno was saying to me before he left, and what I was getting from the other folks who went with him.
As a general assumption, I believe the rough relationship between written letters and people who feel that way is either 1 in 10 or 1 in 100. I think its safe to reduce that by a factor of 5 on the internet, which means for every person posting there's one more that feels that way and said nothing (or 20 if you want to use the larger number).
Anyway, still have better ways to spend my time, which is why this is what you'll get from me on the subject. (although if you want to teach me calculus that'd be awesome. or maybe fractions, which I'm apparently bad at, along with algebra and trig)
No, that's a number you pulled from the realm of Asstopia. It is unreasonable to expect a person to assume that, because one person has a complaint, others have a similar complaint or even feel strongly about it. The bottom line is speak up rather than let shit boil behind the scenes.
He doesn't want to continue the drama. Even if he did, you do not have to oblige the request if you don't really care. Don't try to make it his fault, as if he willed you to speak. That's what causes drama.
Now let me turn on the other side, because I hate you all equally.
Calling Munkus's post a "self-righteous whinefest" does nothing but instigate more petty name-calling. It does nothing to move us forward in the discussion. Basically, people will hang on inflammatory shit rather than discuss the issue. Keep it civil.
Now, I think Munkus broke an expectation of confidentiality by posting the PMs, but I think it's pretty important to know why people leave the guild! And, in Munkus's (technically, Munkus' is also correct so long as you are consistent!) defense, complaining about another guild member is going to draw heat. But there is no reason to intensify it.

The thing he was trying to get at primarily was that he is speaking up. I had no intention about naming names in public. In private I listed five specific names, including myself, that left because of Steve's behavior. Steve's behavior being that he takes perceived slights as personal injustices and responds with increasingly persistent antagonistic behavior. He does not, as far as I can tell, believe that he is wrong in doing this.

Oh no you are right, and looking bacl I can see how childish I can become at times. A reason why having a council of leaders is a good thing as to allow those who have a problem with one leader in question can bring up causes and concerns to the rest and have it dealt with in a intelligent and bias manner. The few members in question that have left didn't choose that option or weren't clear on who was in charge and only after the fact came to you.
Now as for warning the guild about me by posting PMs seem to be going about it the wrong way, I just reacted to as a silly goose and let you get further under my skin. Using it, as Raz said earlier, as an excuse to leave the guild is a pre-teen overly dramatic way for shock points. I'm not leaving the guild because of you, Zeno or the few other nameless that you seem to only know about. I'm only taking a break due to well Hell, it's a social online game and the responsibilities I force onto myself took it's draw and listening to what some of my raiders said that I should take a break. Sadly I thought our mess, between you and I Munk, was over and seeing that just accelerated my decision to leave.
Silly of me I know, I just want to clear that up instead of leaving it to wild mass guessing.

Dear Guildmates,
Please stop putting random 20 copper trash in our limited Guild Bank pool. We do not need a single elemental water in the consumables tab, nor a random 8 copper trash item (Thats not even equipable) in the gear tab. I'm actually using my 1 stack limit on most tabs every day trying to fix this. It's a logistical nightmare.

I am also sick of seeing greens, not only in the sharing tab, but also in the gear tab. Nobody needs greens. They drop entirely too frequently and are generally worthless. Either vendor them or get them disenchanted, but please do not use the gbank as a dumpster.
Now that my little rant is out of the way,
Maybe someone should be in charge of managing/organizing the gbank. Making sure that things are properly being put in/taken out (it's mostly an issue with things being deposited, though). Because as we can all see, it really is a mess. If nobody wants to do it, I would be willing to volunteer for this.
I clean up the bank every two weeks or so. It's mostly fine. I'll state in the gmotd that Outland and Northrend items should not be in there, though, unless it's super-rare stuff.
Oh yes, the sharing tab is exactly for that kind of thing. I know I'm not hurting for mats (except this damn crystals), but leveling enchanting is brutal after 505 or so and every little bit helps.
I'll start pulling greens out and DEing them. I thought they were for something, I guess.
A lot of people did, most likely. I think it can be safe to say, if you are an enchanter and you see greens in the sharing tab, feel free to nab 'em. I normally don't care about greens in the sharing tab, but when there's a lot of them, and they sit there for so long, well..
I did a bit of re-organizing the gbank just now. Nothing too major, except Tradeskills 2 tab. I moved a lot of cooking mats there, so if you see them missing from wherever, that is where they are. I also arranged them to be more accessible. Moved some Food into Consumables 2 as well, since that's where a lot of them seemed to be situated.
Also took quite a bit of Crocolisk Tail for myself (yet we still have a truckload), I'll end up using those for leveling my alts' cooking.
tl;dr: check the bank log if you don't know where something went

Is it ok though for me to put in any Cataclysm greens in the sharing tab for DE'ers. If not then I won't put those in anymore either.
