They also might make you take particular classes they find important at their university as well as have certain class requirements where they wont accept transfer credit at all. The school I transfered to made me take Electronics I there and wouldn't accept any gen-ed writing credit from outside.

which is why it's nice to have a state-wide (legally binding) transfer plan, like Alabama does. It has a list of classes from every school and dictates what can be transferred (both from a CC level and a lateral university level) and what degrees it applies towards, rather than allowing the schools just just kind of fuck around and dictate whatever they want.
One person my girlfriend knows said it was the worst job of their life because it revealed these huge flaws in the system that make the data all screwy. But this is a guy who left his hentai on his thumb-drive and accidentally revealed it during a presentation, so he might be retarded.
Frankly I know nothing about math or computers so I'm looking forward to turning my head off and pushing keys for a minimum of 20hrs/wk for $15-$18/hr

I went to a state school for a year and didn't do so hot (ended the year being on academic probation). To top that off, I screwed up my FAFSA and lost the financial aid I was going to get to go there. So I owe the state a year's tuition + room and board and until I pay I cannot go back to school. And I have delayed making any sort of deal because I am stupid/scared/don't have money.

Well making me retake Electronics I was totally worth it as the professor I had at my second school was way better anyway. Also I was transferring from a private university to a public one.
