Oops. Uh. Well. Azael's perception roll also passes the check, so fuck it. For whatever reason, Iados was temporarily at the head of the caravan, to be corrected ASAP!
Dragon Slayers
I need to get a good 'defending through enforced positioning while doing tons of damage' thing going again.
Any chance of an optional stealth roll to get closer next time, before the surprise kicks in?
No, seriously, this combat I'm hiding behind a tree until it's over.
Oh wait that's just Azael. And she just has an RBA. And you don't have any of those powers, 'cause we have no decent BA dudes. (Mine's an MBA.)
Instead of Intuitive Strike, maybe? I've always been a fan of Opening Shove, which could be really neat in melee for positioning and extra damage. But then again I had a polearm momentum Warlord/MC Fighter build with Wolf Pack Tactics and Opening Shove, so pretty much everyone was always where we wanted them to be.
You were not within range 10 of where you dropped that sucker.
Truth be told, this was on of my first 4th Edition characters, and definitely my first Warlord. Having learned a ton in the last year or so, I would have definitely built him differently from the ground up. As it stands now, the character is still good, just needs a bit of retraining each level.
...CAn I burn an action point and make it ok, or do I need to redo my turn?
Also, I'm not criticising, Zerg. Just weighing up the pros and cons of changing up the character some.
It's also very difficult because you can never really be sure of where the group dynamics are going to focus you. For us right now, I think I'm more healer than Warlord's tend to be in general, therefore I'm trying to fill that role as best as I can, whereas in some games, the Warlord ends up being much more of the enabler.
But by no means do I feel like I have a borked character, but just one of those personalities where I can always see "room for improvement".
And for the record, I'm one of those guys who always appreciates feedback on mechanics, especially from people who understand things a little deeper.
My first Warlord was an Inspiring half-elf build, and was pretty much a super-charged healer and buffer, but he didn't grant any basic attacks. It worked pretty well, I think. You've got a similar thing going with Rousing Assault, and No Gambit is Wasted is a tremendous power. Maybe if we sweet-talk hippo, he'll let you retrain a little faster, if that's what you wanted!
Also, your turn in the IC thread. My plan is to slap a Dire Radiance on Skeleton 2, so all three can be locked down with Dire Radiance or Radiant Starfall. And by locked down, I mean 'prepared to take more damage next turn when they all charge Fosphil'.
No APs are allowed during a surprise round!
Also, retrain away as much as you want every level. Within reason, that is. Like... don't suddenly be another class.
I think Caleb would make a great half-half-orc-halfing dual wielding dire boar riding thief/warlord hybird.
I feel like we need to get a PbP pager for him or something.

Consequently, if someone wants to mind control me, have Caleb move up to try and take out that skeleton with 7 hit points, using rousing assault for the heal bonus, then inspiring word on Fos, that's the plan.
Otherwise, should have it up in a few hours.
K, if that doesn't mess with what you'd like to do, feel free to post, and I'll post afterwards.
