Neat 20 questions-esque game for guessing people/characters.

So far it's gotten 4 characters right in a row: Darth Vader, Scott Pilgrim, Senor Chang & Abed.

I'm impressed.

I did it, and it correctly guessed Nobby from Discworld.

    I'm fairly impressed.

    Riley: "You're a marsupial!"
    Maddie: "I am not!"
    Riley: "You're a marsupial!"
Maddie: "I am a placental mammal!"

Wow. Got Ranma Saotome on the first try. The last time I tried one of these things, it didn't work nearly as well. Took 31 to reach Alex Roe.

EDIT: Beat it complete with Admiral Sergey Gorshkov. Got to add him too, heh. And Natsumi Tsujimoto fooled it, for some reason, even though it already listed her.

The trick is to go for something far beyond geek radar.

Like the inventor of the crock pot or something.

Wow, it got Bambi after a string of questions that didn't seem to relate at all.

e: kinda spooky getting andre the giant so quickly (14questions) after so many unrelated questions. I know that it's eliminating alot with each question but still: impressive.

I did it once more for shits and giggs. Character in mind was former general Tommy Franks

    Akinator guessed Steve Jobs.

edit: Ok last time. My character was Jim Butcher who wrote Dresden files. Akinator guessed Dan Brown.

Ok, that was pretty cool: Rusty Venture bang on the monaaay.

    edit: Also guessed Gilgamesh correctly.

Now for a hard one: The Great King Suppiluliuma, lord of the land of Hatti at it's height of power in the late bronze age.

edit: ha, that beat him. Good tries with Sargon of Akkad and Nebuchadnezzar II though.

What you think "makes sense" has nothing to do with reality. It just has to do with your life experience. And your life experience may only be a small smidgen of reality. Possibly even a distorted account of reality at that. So what this means is that, beginning in the 20th century as our means of decoding nature became more and more powerful, we started realizing our common sense is no longer a tool to pass judgment on whether or not a scientific theory is correct. - Neil Degrasse Tyson

Oh god it knows me! Get behind me E-Satan!

Aha! It couldn't guess My Pet Monster.

  • RiemannLivesRiemannLives Registered User regular
ooooh, that's how this works. If it can't guess even after several rounds of trying it asks you to "introduce" the character you had in mind so that gets added to the database. So every time it fails it, in theory, gets "smarter" for future users.

And now it knows about Suppiluliuma I.
