Someone should take a screen capture of that one guy from screenlife humping the other guy and simply add a caption: "The guys who make scene-it."

And is Mike really done with ping-pong? Like I caught that they were making a joke of the grandeur of his personal wound and whatnot, but why would one quit because of incidentally being part of a game where a guy rams his arm into a wall and dislocates his own shoulder, at no fault to oneself?

I love that even though they won, Khoo basically treats it as a loss

Actually, do any of the old episodes deal with how ping pong caught on in the first place?

Like who in the office got it kicked off, and at what point did they decide it was something they had to focus serious mental resources on?

Don't the Bungie eps from season 1 briefly touch on that...not into who started it and when it got serious, but at least in a general reference?

There's gotta be some other, probably more boring reason, because obviously it wasn't that big a deal.

Also Robert is a robot. Robort.

I meant to post this in the thread for last week but last year, I ran into Kiko in a hallway at PAX East. I saw him and was like "Hey Kiko!" and he goes "Yo! What's up?" At this point, I realized I had nothing to say to him. I had no follow up, no question, not a god damn thing. I don't even remember what I said next but he was just like "Cool" and ran off with his camera.

This episode confirmed my suspicions that Robert Khoo is in fact a robot sent from the future, to do business and play ping pong. Maybe ping pong IS his business.

Color me unsurprised that Robert wants to win no matter what. Considering the man doesn't sleep, I figure he wants to conquer everything from ping pong to a human's need for rest.

The videos have defaulted to the HD setting in season two (I think) so you might just need to turn that off when you watch each episode.

Holy shit Mike, where the hell did that come from?

I'd like to thank Brenna for allowing Jerry to participate. That shit was awesome.

Robert played sensationaly but I was rather amazed at Scott.

As for Krahulik, I'm sure his friends around him have already made all the key points that need to be said. I think it would mean a lot to them, and to Scott if he overcame his fears, picked up a paddle and rejoined the ranks.

    This was so awesome.

Kurtz can tell a story like no one else. They need to give him a segment on every PATV where he just tells a story.

EDIT: also it is fascinating to me to watch all the games. There is a distinct difference in the game being played by Khoo/Kiko and everyone else. They're not playing the same game at all.

This episode was fantastic. I love the way PA (and the film crew) approaches ping-pong, creating so much drama out of a sport that I've always thought of as pretty damn innocuous. It totally does echo Paint the Line's 80s-movie vibe. Too bad they aren't playing to save the town's youth center from the greedy developer who wants to bulldoze it and build a drill factory or something; that would really seal the deal.
