Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
[Let's Play] TRON Evolution - Set 09 - I fight for the Users!

Tron: Evolution is an action-adventure, tie-in video game for the film Tron: Legacy by Propaganda Games, published by Disney Interactive. It was officially announced at the Spike Video Game Awards and was released for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360 platforms on December 7, 2010. The music in the game was composed by Sascha Dikiciyan (aka Sonic Mayhem), Cris Velasco (God of War) and Kevin Manthei. Two tracks from the film composed by Daft Punk are included in the game: "Derezzed" and "The Grid".
Tron: Evolution serves as a prequel to the movie Tron: Legacy and sequel to both the graphic novel Tron: Betrayal and the Nintendo Wii DS version, Tron: Evolution - Battle Grids. It is designed to be an integral part of the Tron story, featuring certain characters and settings from both films.
Evolution explains the events that led to Kevin Flynn's imprisonment inside The Grid, as well as telling how The Grid evolved through the years. The player controls a Monitor program named Anon (short for anonymous), a security program written by Flynn to investigate a conspiracy in the world of Tron.
Welcome to my new Let's Play!
We are going to delve deep into the world of the Grid, running, driving and fighting our way through a beautiful, yet deadly world inside the computer!
This is, as usual, a blind run. I have seen TRON Legacy and will occasionally reference the events in the movie (as will the game) so there might be spoilers in here for anyone who hasn't seen it yet! Beware!
Finally, a game you won't have to rage about. Or is it? I shall find out...
Good luck with this one. Let's hope it doesn't have too many sewer levels or vehicle sections (oh wait, it's TRON. Better put on your cyber motorcycle gear...)
EDIT:
Well, that's a Prince of Persia ripoff, if I've ever seen one... But it looks like good fun, so yeah, should be good. And now I totally know what to do in the next lucid dream
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU at the end.
A: FPSs suck, all that ever happens is that I get shot!
B: Well, you DO have to shoot back...
God speed sir. This game has pissed me off so badly I have a hard time finishing it.

We were the ones who thought that Melissa was real. Why you might ask.
Let me put it this way, it was an "OH SHIT OH SHIT, THEY FOUND ME " moment. I wasn't ready. My code wasn't compiled yet. Our plans weren't setup yet!Sentient programs rarely run into other sentient programs.
Some of you have met me, and I understand your concern of my well being. But that time for that boy, that child, are gone now. Viscount Alpha is no longer operable. His functions are now mine.He may post, but I am the one talking not him.My data, my code will live on forever in his servers.

Could you say why? Does it get really hard or something? Is it buggy?
It's disappointing after tron 2.0 and the camera views suck imho. This game is the physically challenged brother of prince of persia/assassins creed games.
Also, wait until you die over and over and then have to watch the same lame cutscene over and over.

Gotta say... of all the games you could have LP'ed, this was the last one I expected you to do.
It's an okay game, though as Viscountalpha says, if you've played Tron 2.0 - which I have - then you can't help but think of how much better it was.
Still, when all was said and done I quite enjoyed Tron: Evolution, so hopefully you will as well.
Anyway, here's a few gameplay hints to help you on your way should you be interested in them.
Spoiler:
The game never actually comes out and tells you this, but the way it expects you to play is to keep moving all the time. It basically wants you to be constantly running and vaulting over energy refills and health strips and attacking enemies whilst you're on the move. It's really effective once you get the hang of it since it keeps your energy topped up so you can spam the various special disc moves.
Also, don't overlook the Parry & Counter move. You've got to sit still to use it so using around the Shield type enemies is dangerous since their disc attacks are unblockable, but it's great if you're facing off against a horde of the normal disc thrower enemies and it's pretty much the only quick way to deal with the agility type enemies.
Finally, the game generally goes out of it's way to tell you which way to go. Look for those markings on the walls that are basically a row of four circular markings. They are to Tron: Evolution what scraped walls were to PoP 2008.
Here's hoping this goes better and is more enjoyable for you than your LP of 'The Game That Must Not Named'. I shall be looking forward to more sets.
Got to say that I didn't really enjoy the tank sections in this game, largely because the tank handles horribly - at least it does on the PS3. It's like trying to steer the shopping trolley from hell. Maybe the PC version handles better.
Anyway, how are you finding the game so far? Are you enjoying it?
As sewer levels go, it has to be said that this is arguably the prettiest one you'll ever see. It was quite nice moving along this bit of the game and looking up to see the city above you.
Also, I see that you've learned how to play. All that fighting you were doing looked downright proficient.
I always hate that when games never make it clear what you're supposed to do. They don't need to hold your hand or anything, but they need to do something other than an explosion that means it's working versus and explosion that means it's not working, or something other than a red switch you need to hit along with red lights on the walls.
It wasn't really half bad. There was a lot of stuff in here that was pretty cool, and with a bit of polish it could've been much better.
Also, I wish Games for Windows Live let you redownload games you had registered. I'm not sure where my copy of this is; I think it got misplaced in a move.

the only parts I found hard were the ones with
they have no weaknesses to any of your attacks and pack a wallop if you get hit
also you are stunned if you get hit
especially at the end
but otherwise its pretty straight forward
"Derezzed" is such an amazing track!

I need closure!
I pronounce it bee-log.
VRRRROOOM VRRROOOOM BOOOOOOOM!

I pronounce it bee-log.
It's also neat to see some of the pre-history for Legacy that was merely hinted at in the movie.

We're back! With audio de-sync thanks to Youtube....but still!
Also, I see that you've learned how to play. All that fighting you were doing looked downright proficient.
Severely underrated.
Oh god I am rusty!

I love that damn tank!
And so the story ends!
