So this has been bugging me for a while.
I remember this story from growing up.
It involved a monk and a knight or a similar version of each.
They argued about the existence of God. The punchline, if I remember correctly, is something like:
Knight:"What if you've spent your whole life worshiping God and he doesn't exist?"
Monk:"What if you've spent your life ignoring him and he does exist?"
Ok so I've probably butchered that, but that's memory for you. I thought this was Chaucer, but I can't find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
