A little known fact about M.C. Gainey...he has made a cameo in every movie you have ever seen.*

    My favourite Nicolas Cage movies:

National Treasure(s) - remember that reality show that came out around the same time that was pretty much the same thing? I loved these movies.

Wickerman - golden. everyone has already commented on this.

Bad Lieutenant - some of his best work. This film was made for him. I highly recommend it. It is amazing and confusing; The two things Nic Cage is best at being.

Bringing out the Dead - this movie is actually really amazingly good. Really shows his range as an actor. I'm not sure if it's a fluke that he does so well in some movies and so horrendously (awesomely) bad in others, but it just makes me think that Nic Cage is probably an acting-genius and knows precisely what he is doing depending on the prospective quality of the film.

    Adaptation - another amazing performance.

Kick Ass - he's got a strange way of being absolutely creepy while at the same time being earnest and innocent. Nicolas Cage.

Matchstick Men - this was also a good movie.

    Facts from imdb:

Did you know that he is related to Sofia and Francis Ford Coppola? Sofia is his cousin, and Francis is his uncle. He was born Nicolas Kim Coppola.

His one-time passion for method acting reached a personal limit when he smashed a street-vendor's remote-control car to achieve the sense of rage needed for his gangster character in The Cotton Club (1984).

Proposed to Patricia Arquette on the day he met her in the early 1980s. Arquette thought he was a bit strange but played along with his antics by creating a list of things Cage would have to fulfill to win her. When he started to work his way through the list, Arquette got scared and avoided him. They met again many years later and later went on to marry.

On his upper back he has a tattoo of monitor lizard with a top hat.

"Drive Angry 3D" opens with a muscle car racing across a burning bridge out of Hell, while we hear a famous 12-letter word used three or four times. So right away we know where we're at. Here is an exercise in deliberate vulgarity, gross excess, and the pornography of violence, not to forget garden variety pornography. You get your money's worth.

I can prove that Nic Cage is a wizard:

Nicolas Cage starred in The Sorcerer's Apprentice.

In the original Sorcerer's Apprentice cartoon from Fantasia, Mickey Mouse wore a wizard's hat.

    fantasia_movie_image.jpg

Said hat is shaped like a cone.

Rearranging the letters "NICOLAS CAGE" yields "Conical Sage".

A sage is one of profound wisdom, not unlike

    A WIZARD.

Sir, your derangement is impressive. We all know that Nic Cage is actually a mexican woman, which is why "NICOLAS CAGE" is an anagram of "Nicole Gasca". Conical Sage indeed *tuts*.

Is there any love here for "The Family Man"? Cool movie but not Cage's typical thing. It made me sad.

My fave movie of his is probably Matchstick Men / Raising Arizona. Gonna pick up Bad Lieutenant, that looks pretty bad ass.

The Rock is the best movie with Nic Cage in it but it is a rare case where he does not dominate the screen. Everyone in that movie is completely upstaged by the absolute brilliant performance of Sir Ed Harris, Esq. as General Francis X. Hummel.

But then that is one of my favorite individual performances ever.
